I'm touring around Scotland for a while and am interested in spending some time on Shetland this winter, especially for UHA, and someone on Yell suggested I post on here. I'm looking for ways to stay on Shetland for about a month, maybe house/petsitting? I live in Alaska, where I housesit for various people, and am fine with remote locations. I'd also welcome any other suggestions on how I might manage to affordably stay for a 4-5 week timeframe.

I'm only going to Alaska if Cicely and its inhabitants (or its clone) actually exists.
A bunch of nutters like that could make life fun.

This isn't one of your regular posts from someone who may be idly thinking about Shetland and with some vague notion of maybe visiting in the next 10 years, the OP is a friend of my US-dwelling niece.
So any help/info would be appreciated!

@ Scorrie - so you'll be putting them up then, right?

Any luck Dmeadows? I've a spare bedroom in my tiny house, but we're living in it and a month might be a bit full-on!
If you can string several offers of a week's duration together, I'd happily be a part of that... as long as you walk the dog from time to time
