Despite a dramatic rise in the number of murders in Shetland over the past few years (Jimmy Perez is on the case though ;-) ) it seems the overall crime rates have fallen

"In Shetland, the third area to experience a 12% reduction overall, a major decrease in crimes of dishonesty outweighed rises in violence, sexual crimes and vandalism in the overall figures."

Crime rates continue to fall - https://www.shetnews.co.uk/2019/02/21/crime-rates-falling-but-committee-says-not-good-enough/

A detection rate of 70% in Shetland seems quite good, and from my understanding one of the highest rates in Scotland https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/1141554/police-detection-rate-of-crimes-varies-massively-across-different-areas-of-scotland/

But Alastair Cooper reckons that's “not good enough”. I suppose it'll never be good enough until it's 100%
