  1. Agree with Evil Inky - very happy with our new build by E&H. From our first ideas, through planning and the build to dealing with 'snagging' - professional & highest quality all the way.
  2. Recommend E&H. If you decide to install one, suggest you check out the Energy Saving Trust website http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/scotland to see if you are eligible to apply for the Renewable Heating Premium Payment. There are conditions (insulation etc) but it was worth up to £850 towards the cost of an ASHP. Also watch for the Renewable Heating Incentive scheme which is supposed to start for domestic installations before too long. Again, you have to meet various criteria, but worth checking out.
  3. Got one of these letters a few days ago. Gave us an odd feeling (just for a moment) as late father-in-laws second name was Charles & address was correct - ours. Letter shredded.
  4. Agree with previous post about Muddy Bay (formerly LDS Furniture) - good selection, various price ranges and Stewart is really helpful over delivery etc. If you want furniture from IKEA, you order through the Edinburgh store. They have an arrangement with Shetland Transport who pick up from Edinburgh fortnightly on a Thursday. So, you just pay IKEA for the goods (standard price) then you pay Shetland Transport when your stuff arrives in Shetland - they will deliver it to your home, or you can pick it up from their depot in Lerwick. We've ordered this way a couple of times and found IKEA Edinburgh really good, and the freight charged by Shetland Transport not too bad. If you have the cash, then furniture ordered online from John Lewis comes up free delivery. Found it hard to believe when I was told this by a friend, but can confirm its true as splashed out on a new table and it was delivered without any additional charge.
