I come from the mainland and as teenagers we went out and got drunk,now and then when we thought we could get away with it,or we managed to persued someone to go into the "OFFY" and buy us a bottle of cheap plonk.I by no means come from a wealthy family nor do i come from a deprived area .Please do NOT stereotype .Wish I was perfect,but hey ho, way back then same as now what teenagers are like .Lets not criticiize Right of passage ,we learn by our mistakes .And I still remember my so angry Mother battering me around the face with a wet dishcloth and my Father telling her to stop !!!! Oh yeah the next day all i did eat was an ice lolly.I do not want to be that 17yr old again

What exactully do you mean by saying ."..these are not children of deprived areas"......In my humble opion all children no matter who or where they come from are equal .

Wotsit, why not take to the streets a year from now ,give care and a warm blanket/cup of tea/support whatever is needed to those drunk 14~17{and anyone else in need of LOVE} and help them get home safely.I will gladly work permitting come with you as im sure others would.I think on the mainland people who do just that are called Street Pastors ,feel free to correct me if im wrong.

Simple solution ,if your children are under a certaiin age for whatever ,keep them chained and locked up,,,,,Come on mummy/daddy were you so perfect ? doubt it very much indeed,

OK maybe not right but come on how many of us did this ,maybe not out in public, but at times of celebration ect. [newyear being one such time,} there are not many folk who can honestly say that not a sip of booze passsed their lips before the legal age.Silly yes....right of passage maybe.By the way this happens all over not just Shetland.

Okay lets sort a few things out here for those who either can not read road singage or choose to ignore it .Firstly lights are on the post and actual barriers ,hard to miss them .Next time your first in line take a look ,two sets of lights .Secondly it is illegal to go through a red light,so all that have done so and only got a ticking off think yourself lucky,in the not so distant pass (go check back pages of the S/T)someone was given a hefty fine,Thirdly safety of barrier staff ,some years ago a barrier staff mamber was "brushed" by a car jumping the lights .And lastly they are there for you the car driver/passengers safety,think about it do you really want to be hit by a plane ? Sadly we only have to look at recent news events to see the catastrophic outcome of such an event

As you have to sit for quite a few minutes whilst the barriers are closed ,perhaps instead of gowking out of your car windows looking for a plane maybe you could read the signage that is blatently in front of your windscreen.

Why not sell the kid and state all toys come free ,would only be one advert !

Could this be a jealous wee doggy gotten a hold of mummy's laptop .The name liz-b-anne makes me think so .liz=her Maj. b-Be. ann=Anne ,altogether it reads BeAnne. Does make me wonder somewhat . Love the daily blog ,and nobody is forced to read it .

We have a Starling that comes to our bird table ,on one leg he/she has a red band on the other a blue one.Does anyone know why and how this came about.

I was wondering if anyone has this method of managing attendance used in their workplace. And have you recieved written warnings or worse still been dismissed due to having a high score .
