Hello

Are you interested in sport? Want to organise events for young people in Shetland. Why not become a Youth Legacy Ambassador for Shetland! You'll work with Young Scot to make it happen and have the opportunity to attend training on the mainland. For more information visit http://www.youngscot.org/info/450-getting-involved-in-the-glasgow-2014-games

The legacy is made up of 4 themes and we’re looking for young people aged between 14 and 26 to promote these legacy themes to people throughout their local authority for two years.

What we’ll do!

1. We will fully support you in a number of ways.

2. We'll provide full training.

3. We'll cover any travel expenses that you have to pay as a result of your Youth Legacy Ambassador work.

4. We'll promote activities that you’re involved in on our websites.

5. Create online discussion pages so you can communicate with all the Ambassadors across Scotland, share ideas and work together.

6. We can provide you with the support of our Outreach team who will bring their Infomobiles to events or activities that you organise in your communities.

What you’ll do!

Youth Legacy Ambassadors will work in teams of four in each local authority area. You will be responsible for developing your own role to promote the Legacy themes and you can be as creative and imaginative as you like. You will also work towards a Youth Achievement Award so your time and commitment will be formally recognised.
