Though it was a nice addition to Shetlink it was decided to remove it for now.
Basically as time moved ever forward there were more and more people just consistently hitting the frontpage to view potential new forum posts. This caused unnecessary load on the server / Shetlink and so has been removed for now.

I tried to guess ... I failed. Sorry. Can you tell me?

*yawn*
Yay!
You are aware that I locked that thread as there was utter trütelation in there, no?
Remember the way of the 'forum etiquette' young shetlandpeat? Gonna have to ask you to self moderate yourself m8ty.
-
That's it though ...
In a nutshell and generalisation for anything.. Fok come aroond - whoever they are offering whatever. Might be sharn - might no be. Wha kins? Lang run - might be fine - might no be. Wha kins? Tak a chance, or dunna. Mak up your own mind or if so inclined wear a onesie and sit in the cupboard and smear yourself in marmalade.
Then lots o trütling posts o let's be frank borderline 'eek!' and dirt and then round in circles.
Locking this thread as it serves no real further purpose. Anybody have any exception to that send an email to oohbutiliktaetrütle@shetlink.com and it'll be ignored. Ta.

Where is this thread going? What exactly is the point of it?
Somebody humour me. Otherwise it might as well be locked as it's just a trütle o dirt, no?

^^ Kinda read my posts. Exactly the same outcome, no? Just a 'different', and ideally more 'inclusive' tak.

Hi FiCam28, thanks for sharing a bit more.
Way to go unlinkedstudent for being sae döl aboot hit. Perhaps not the best way to engender what could have been a very interesting thread
Anyway, FiCam28, I guess making a first stab at addressing any points you already understand we could attempt to utilise this medium to affect. Transparency works well in cases such as these.
Thanks.

Hi,
It'd be good if you can expand and contextualise what "doing some research" entails and to what end the 'research' will be collated and even potentially published?
Thanks.

What's wrong with it? At least you don't have to look at Bressay!

This needs to go straight to the Times, some one will recognise this. It will probably be the youngsters who will say something.
I know certain councillors read these pages as well, it would be no trouble to contact you for further details.
This has happened not because there are no skip, but because of folks selfishness and disregard for the environment.
Ah'm disregarded me aen environment several times. Man, woken up in a slester 'o sharn. Claertit - haed tae fit! Christ! If only dae hid kent, no?

Yeah, the top right search facility is a google/site based search - google will stop users from searching too quickly consecutively or if it thinks an IP is attempting too many connections /slash/ a mixture of both. It's a 'feature' of that service.

Just recently got the Samsung Galaxy S2 from having a Samsung Omnia HD (i8910). I'd said I'd never get another Samsung phone after the HD as there was absolutely no customer support or firmware upgrades period. Ended up reflashing the phone with a custom rom to make it useable.
From spending literally 5-6 months researching the S2 before getting it (waiting for it to be launched in UK) I can say that I am very very happy with the phone. By doing various tweaks I'm getting roughly 2 days of battery life out of it with "normal" use. GPS and Wifi are the biggest drains on battery - consistent use of both/either will see maybe half a days usage before the battery needs charging.
Build quality is outstanding. My only niggle is the phone is potentially too light as sometimes I can hardly feel it in my pocket.
There are various posts on the Internet about the LG Optimus 2x build quality being second rate with it crashing, freezing, overheating and generally being of sluggish performance. I however, can't back these claims up personally but there is an online petition in regards to "freeze and reboot problems" and various forums with dedicated threads on these issues. This was the clincher which swung me towards the S2.
I could ramble on about Samsung/Nokia and their Symbian shenanighans .. but I won't
Agree it's a pretty telling sign when Symbian is now a dead technology and Nokias Meego has been usurped by Windows Mobile in their devices.

Does anyone here have some 'real' info on this in Shetland? Areas perhaps etc. if anything?
Been wandering in the hills since I was young / 'fencing when a sproot' - have heard of no historic precedent in regards - and have never been aware of anyone recently having anything more serious as spraining their ankle or rather being that daft that they couldn't even find their way off a Shetland 'peerie mootie hill'.
