  1. Hmmm. I used to live in Paisley and the kids used to pull knives on you for a laugh. Wisna very funny.

What I see on da street here really isna far removed from what I saw/did when I was a teenager 20 year ago. We just didna hae mobiles ta film it (yup we acted lik TEENAGERS! Heevens). And what I really dinna understand is if you have a problem with any childs behaviour why no just challenge it?

No I forgot, it's always somebody elses responsibility. And whats da best way to sort the problem? Blame everyone but take no responsibility yourself .

  2. Whilst you are aa whingin aboot da bar prices lik pleepsy peerie bairns (as bloody usual lik you canna smuggle twartree haf bottles in) am windirin how you managed ta get served athin da day? Did you get a special pass? Bar organisation? Piss up in a brewery? How hard can it be????? Hunders o bar staff yet a HUUUUUUUUUGE queue for drink? Has nane o you been tae a festival? running a bar really isna too hard. And you nearly cracked it but you decided ta bring it lots o fences and queues. WHY? Never seen a bar lik it. Ach weel still had a great night. Tank da lord for kerry oots!

  3. I am not going to prentend its ok to depend on drugs to function its simply not.

    Why not?

There are loads of conditions which require the sufferer to depend on drugs to function.

very good point, I remember having a chat with my doctor once about this topic, my partner was worried about the drugs I had been prescribed as they have addictive qualities, it was pointed out to me there is a world of difference between depedance and addiction.

If I stopped injecting drugs, I would eventually cease to function altogether.

  4. Well done . No afore time Nyugle.(but I am da blyde du did it) Well said MayMay. Long live Clives. And for aa da dungheads dat have no idea but ta post your well thought oot opinions, you ir da big ahint yir computers and you impress me no end.

  5. Well our Norwegian cousins have invited the Lerwick Jarl squads over for Norway Day in the past.

As for authentic vikings, so many miss the point. To paraphrase an ex-jarl to a tourist who was complaining about what she perceived as the lack of historical accuracy "It's not authentic Viking, it's authentic Up Helly-Aa."

I really don't have a problem with babies of different races, anything that widens wir gene pool surely has to be commended on this evidence.

I had a spree at the last Tall Ships and intend to do so again. You can't please everybody though

  6. So my 1st cousin who served 3 years in Scottish prisons, was born in Africa who's parents were born in Shetland in the 30s and both sides can trace their ancestry for roughly 200 years afore dat, tae Northmavine, Vidlin, Whalsay, Lerwick,(and more) wid surely be a Shetland Man by your Daily Mail view of the world?

  7. I ken what you mean Spinner72 but I think that a little frivolity and quirkiness are what sets us apart. These are the things that I think celebrate the fact we don't all take ourselves too seriously.

I think the lighthearted tone of the reports reflect us in a good light and is a hundred times better than some of the recent news events have portrayed Shetland.

Anyway as an event, I think this Screenplay was the best yet and It seemed to me to be the best attended. I loved seeing Oil City Confidential on the Big Screen. Wilko Johnson and Canvey Island were amazing. I really enjoyed the whole thing and hope it continues to grow in a similar fashion in years to come
