  1. Theres a wife up the corridor who keeps screamin, swearin an throwin things at anyone she can. Im fed up being wakened by this. Wish she would be sedated by a large needle  I am in ARI awaing an op and am in agony withoot old grannies causin grief.

And I swear if the next doc to try and get blood somewhere I tell them they wont I might chuck a wobble as well.

    Rant over for now.

  2. I did not mean that the fundraising that was done for Aaland was for a piss up I meant that if there was to be any fundraising done as punishment I would not be giving any money as money raised could/would be used for further trips by said team. I know people will think this is a petty attitude but I have bag packed numerous times for sport and it's hard work but easy money to make.

  3. I for one am not attacking anyone, I don't have an axe to grind and I am a coach for one of the "diddy" sports that JohanofNess speaks of. I as a coach would be horrified if anyone representing the sport I'm involved in acted the way the football team supposedly did. The committee of the sport I'm involved with would not tolerate any of whats been reported and undoubtedly would give said person a ban of sorts. We have had incidents which have happened and bans have been issued, but I stress to add none of them involved the police.

  4. Why should he not be banned and come to that why should others in the team not be looking at a ban as well? I know he's probably feeling like crap over all this attention but if a lesson has to be learned then take away his place in the team for a few games. There are plenty of players in Shetland who would love a tryout/call up to represent Shetland. And if as you say make the team fundraise as punishment I for one will not be putting money into anything to enable them to go on a piss up at some of my expense.

  5. I was totally gobsmacked by what I've read in the ST today. I was under the impression that all team members had to sign a code of conduct and any breach of conduct could result in a disiplinary hearing.

The code of conduct that I seen says that competitors and officials must be courteous and polite, conduct themselves with dignity and remember they are ambassadors of Shetland and they are guests of the host island.

If there is any of the story true I would think some of the conduct rules have been breached and as the rules are very clear then something needs to be done.

  6. The Cutting Edge hairdresser has shut ( next to ST bookshop ) but Elaine now works at Hair 2000 I thoroughly recommend her she's had a lot to put up with doing my hair  If I didn't have Elaine I would most certainly go to Sharp Image in Scalloway. I know some folk that go there and their hair looks good.

  7. It's not just the local alkies who buy the drink for the teenagers. A few months ago I had the misfortune to be at the Viking waiting for a bus on a Saturday tea time. I seen older guys about 19/20 turning up and leaving drink for the younger ones to collect. I did report to the police what I saw but I don't know if anything happened. I only knew the older guys to see as I've seen them at the bus station before.

  8. Out of respect for mams with bairns I don't park in these spaces, just as I don't park in disabled spaces. I have serious health problems but don't get high rate of disability living allowance for mobility so I don't qualify for a blue badge. Not too long ago I was quite ill and my sister took me to toon. As my mobility sometimes is limited she parked in a disabled space at the Toll Clock. When we came out of shops someone I know and who knows about my problems made very hurtful comments to me. The person in question has mobility problems as well and she took to going around putting stickers on folks cars when they were parked in disabled spaces. I told her if she came anywhere near my car(which was my sisters) I'd phone the police. She went away muttering. I also said in a loud enough voice that some people should not judge others so quickly.

  9. On the bbq front I would imagine folk would take a disposable one. They might have to leave them and who would pick them up and dispose of them? Also if its outside on the pitch I would think bairns would want to run around. Maybe a designated bbq area could be set up. Personally if I go for a picnic I like sandwiches and finger food.

  10. At the risk o gettin an earfull fae some folk maybe not too wise to take a barbeque with you.

We used to have communal barbeques when I lived in Wirliegert many moons ago and we'd use the garage if it rained. We've had many a great party so hopefully I'll make the picnic. Only thing was ours were at night so we could partake of a few light refreshments.
