New local Ska band, MaSKArade, who recently won Shetland Battle of the Bands, have now joined the bill to support Dodgy at the Lerwick Legion on May 12th. With First Foot Soldiers also providing support, definitely a reason for getting to the Legion early!! Last few tickets on sale at High Level Music!!!

A Northern Soul Presents.... DODGY + FIRST FOOT SOLDIERS + KLUB REVOLUTION DJ'S ROYAL BRITISH LEGION, LERWICK SATURDAY 12 MAY ... One of the most successful bands of the britpop era of the mid 90's head to Shetland as part of a tour to promote their first album in over a decade. The first time round, Dodgy were only together for seven years, but in that time they sold over a million records worldwide, released three albums and 12 Top 40 singles including ‘Staying Out For The Summer’, 'In A Room', ‘So Let Me Go Far’, ‘If You’re Thinking Of Me’ and the Top 5 hit ‘Good Enough’, all still a staple of radio playlists. They sold out the Brixton Academy... for three nights in a row and were awarded an unprecedented 90-minute Saturday evening slot on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury Festival in 1997 before headliners Radiohead. Now armed with a new album of brand new songs by Dodgy has been a long time coming but ‘Stand Upright In A Cool Place’ is well worth the wait. Deeper and more mature but with bigger choruses and stronger melodies, recorded over the summer of 2011 in an old farmhouse in Malvern and mixed by Matt Pence in Texas, the original members Nigel Clark, Andy Miller and Mathew Priest, have recorded their best work to date. Support will come from popular local covers outfit, First Foot Soldiers. Klub Revolution DJ's on hand to spin britpop tunes between bands. Any Color Black from Glasgow return to Shetland on 3rd March for a special album launch show at the Lerwick Legion. The electro rock duo, who fuse live guitars and vocals over a backdrop of synth and beats, release their debut album "Sex and Love" on March 5th, however they have chosen Shetland to launch the CD along with an in-store performance in Glasgow on 2nd March. Any Color Black have been topped as one of Scotland's hottest new bands, and their debut LP has been much anticipated following the bands formation 4 years ago. Local rockers The Last will provide support. Klub Revolution DJ's will be spinning tunes between bands. Tickets are available from High Level Music priced at £10.
