SLF at the Legion would indeed be a fantastic gig, however with their minimum stage requirements and PA spec, you'd be lucky to fit 100 people in!!! With all fees and production costs involved it wouldn't be viable for SLF to play a venue in Shetland that was under 600 capacity.

Unfortunately this gig won't be happening here in October. Originally we had the band confirmed to play Mareel on October 22nd, however due to the delay in the building of the venue, we had to look for another suitable venue in Shetland to host the gig. We contacted the Clickimin who could offer us any date in October apart from the 22nd, so we looked into the possibility of changing the date to the 29th October. Despite the best efforts of the bands management to change around the tour to accommodate us, it was going to be unviable, and unfair on the other venues on the tour, to change dates so close to the tour being announced. On the positive side, the bands management, along with the band themselves, were extremely keen to come to Shetland and are now looking at the logistics of bringing the band here as part of their March tour, which also takes in their famous St Patricks Day gig at the Glasgow Barrowlands (they also usually play The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen as part of the March tour).

Klub Revolution DJ's will be playing all things indie/ska/alternative/britpop/ madchester at the Royal British Legion in Lerwick tonight!! We've got a huge PA, lights and lasers, and some top tunes, so come along and join in the fun from 9.30pm tonight!!! The Any Color Black gig at the Legion in Lerwick has been been changed from Friday 1st July to Saturday 2nd July and subsequently the date previously announced for Aith Hall on the 2nd July has been cancelled. Original tickets are still valid, or if you can't make the rearranged date, refunds are available from High Level Music. Tickets are still available from High Level Music for the gig, which also features local bands The Last and Automatic Chicken. Klub Revolution DJ's will also be holding an Indie disco at the Legion on Friday 1st July from 9.30pm - 1am. Admission is £5 at the door or only £3 for Any Color Black ticket holders.

I wouldn't say it ain't gonna happen, the wheels are very much in motion and the band are extremely keen to come here and the agents are working hard to try and make it happen. In all probability Mareel won't be open in time for the tour (which runs October 12th - 31st) so the only venue which could then host the gig would be Clickimin. We have already spoken to the Clickimin management, who have been extremely helpfull by holding dates for us. Shetland Arts should also be praised for keeping us up to speed with Mareel's progress at what is obviously a very trying time for them. They have also offered support to help with the increased costs should the gig take place at Clickimin. We're still a million miles from confirming the gig, but everyone's working hard behind the scenes to try and pull this off.

Unfortunately it looks very unlikely Mareel will be open in time for this gig to take place there, currently talking to Clickimin to see if date will fit in with them in October.

The Management of acclaimed Irish punks Stiff Little Fingers have expressed an interest in the band coming to the North Isles this October. We are currently looking at venue availability and capacity for this event. Are there many Shetlinkers interested in seeing SLF?

Klub Revolution DJ's will be playing a set at the Royal British Legion in Lerwick on Saturday 9th April along with DJ Twerto, who will be making his live debut. Klub Revolution DJ's will be playing their usual ecelctic choices of Indie, Ska, Madchester, Britpop, Ska, Punk and of course Country and Western. DJ Twerto will be warming up with house, funk and techno (check out his mixes on local mixes thread). The night runs from 9.30pm until 1am, and to save people queuing all night for tickets for this once in a monthtime event, admission is £5 at the door.
