There are 974 comments on the guardian website on Lemn Sissay's article and I've read them all.  The vast majority do not take Lemn Sissay's view that golly dolls are racist,  this includes a hand full of people who have identified themselves as black.
 
If the majority of black people find these dolls offensive now is their chance to speak up and speak out but so far I'm just not seeing it.
 
I can only presume that the vast majority really don't care one way or another.
