  1. Innocent smoothies, yuck, I hate their adverts as well as their smoothies. They have favourite fruits in it but when you try it, you change mind quickly and burst the carton with your foot and saying "revenge to them darn smoothies!"

    Sacrilege!

They're better for you than concentrated fruit juice, I might add

  2. I hate the vile things :x I've luckily not seen all that many down here, but when I've been home they always seem to be everywhere in summer and they're gross.

Our neighbours' cat at least used to snack on them when he came down to us for a visit

  3. Having avoided it for about 5 years (as I’m a snobby bar steward), I've recently picked up The Beach. It's pretty good, although the element of surprise is missing, having seen the movie a couple of times.

The story developes at quite a pace, and the central character from whose perspective the tale is told is quite likeable, much more so than that yank who played him in the film.

I read it in three hours; not seen the film yet but the book was wonderful :D

  4. *joins in sighing*

Really vexed to be missing 90% of screenplay this year. Extremely bad organisation of work and holidays without paying attention to dates in time

Yeah me too. Got to a couple of things but wish they would split the book and film festivals - too much at one time to ensure a good turnout for a small place like Shetland.

I'm not even in Shetland  I do wish I'd been able to get home.

  5. Also this snigger fest from trout, in the Pot Noodles thread:

Why anyone would want to eat re-hydrated freeze dried camel skitter is beyond me :?

I blame your hapless parents for allowing you to eat such sh*te! Perhaps if they had the gumption to be able to cook you some right maet this thread would never had existed!!

Although I think my mam would kill him if he suggested it was her fault I'd ever eaten one

  6. Since Northlink started the service we've taken a chinese takeway on board with us.

I was under the impression that you weren't "allowed" to take food aboard to eat...?

I haven't tested that theory though, I try my best to eat before boarding to avoid the stale, tasteless, extorionate grub they serve up.

I've brought a chicken supper on board before, although I ate it in one of the bar seating areas near where the shop is so that's maybe why I wasn't questioned about it.

I also think I've brought a McDonald's on board with me before. Yes, that's just how bad Northlink grub is. Worse than my old school dinners. Byock.

  7. Since Northlink started the service we've taken a chinese takeway on board with us. The food is poor quality and expensive for what you get. It also seems to have nearly as many staff in the cafe as in one that the council would operate.

It's about time NorthLink woke up to the fact the service is a way of getting from A to B and not a cruise of the North Sea.

    Too true!

It's not like there's really anything to see other than other boats out there. I might add as well that it's usually too dark to see anything worth seeing anyway.

  8. ^^^ I personally think, what with the cost of a ticket with Northlink (especially at peak times - £100 return for a cabin, totally unreasonable ), that the price should include a voucher for both teatime and breakfast meals. And indeed a ticket to any one of the films.

It makes me sick that they charge so much, all because they have no competition.
