Garthbanks
Is there anybody in Shetland now who knows how to professionally service antique clocks? Now that Bayes has gone I am somewhat at a loss! Be grateful for any pointers, thank you.
Arfski
Nothing comes to mind but Darren Oldie might be able to put you on to someone, his shop is Oldie Antiques in the old newsagent place on Commercial Road. I take it's not something a clean and a few dabs of clock oil can sort out?
Garthbanks
That's a good idea yes thanks, I know him. It is just a clean and oil situation, nothing major.. Arfski
23615_1610818398
there is a guy that comes up occasionally and cleans and services sewing machines. he did a good job of cleaning and oiling a knitting machine, and was open about his confidance at oiling and removing dirt, but his lack of knowledge about the actual functionality of the machine. if youre not needing anything advanced he might be an option, i cant remeber his name and dont have any contact details unfortunatly
Garthbanks
Ok thanks for that, good to know. I think I know the right people to ask when he may be planning a visit.
