  1. ^^^ So I keep hearing. I've also heard that England are a very good team.
  2. Maybe being managerless is why I unusually backed Unst for a win Thanks for the info Bogle. Get editing folks.
  3. Is Unst v Whitedale still on?
  4. Premier League Friday June 20th Ness United 3 v 1 Yell Premier League Monday June 23rd Unst 3 v 2 Whitedale Ness United 0 v 4 Spurs Whalsay 8 v Yell 0 Shetland 1 v 3 Deveronvale
  5. Stoichkov In Seventh Heaven Again For the second time this season Stoichkov somehow managed to correctly predict a seven goal demoliton job. Thanks to Whalsay's magnificent seven,he is firmly back in the race for the coveted title of 'Score Predictor Of The Year'. At the bottom of the table it appears that hellsbells has been served with a winding-up order , and brokenlink is in administration. That means the battle to avoid the wooden spoon will likely be contested between Baxter and Mr Brain. No ground was gained by Mr Brain during the last week, but he must feel confident having been in good form before his long term absence. UEFA Cup Final

I think this proves exactly what people have been saying about the Rangers support. If 1% of the Rangers fans caused trouble in Manchester, that's 1000 people. Not such a small minority.
  7. Don't worry, shouldn't take much effort to catch Baxter
  8. Premier League 13th June Yell 1 v 4 Celtic Thistle 5 v 3 Unst Whitedale 2 v 3 Scalloway Delting 3 v 1 Spurs Ness 1 v 6 Whalsay
  9. Lucky 13 For Marshall Marshall set a new record for points in a week with a mammoth haul of 13 from Friday's games. It shows that one week is a long time in football score predicting. As Frankie's recent run of mediocrity continued, he was allegedly heard saying that this was just a mid-season 'blip'. 10. I actually feel a bit sorry for MiM. He clearly has a passionate disliking for the Old Firm, but some people really do need to read what has been written before they post. Once again we have OF fans defending the indefensible by saying "that teams fans are as bad as our teams". I don't even bother to read OF threads on other websites, and don't post very much in this thread. The reason being that I often feel embarrassed to read what my fellow supporters are writing. I think most people would agree that by and large OF fans in Shetland are not religious bigots. However too many of them suffer from the same affliction as their West of Scotland counterparts. That is an inability to accept there is any problem with their club, or a lack of desire to see their club run in a way which is morally acceptable.
  11. Unst in a final? This is the Manson cup, not the Parish cup
  12. After much consideration (about 2 minutes) the competition organisers have decided to allow Marshall and Baxter entry into the Manson Cup competition at this late stage. As they have both predicted that the 4 teams which were in the preliminary round will be eliminated by the quarter final stage, they have gained no advantage with their late entry. However, should one of them be tied on points at the end of the competition, then their 2 quarter final ties involving the teams which came through the prelimanary round will be declared void in a correct score countback scenario. Also, well done to Baxter for his Whalsay 4 Celtic 2 Madrid Cup final prediction. It put the cherry on the icing on the cake
  13. Marathon Man penfold Moves Into Second Four high scoring games hindered progress from the chasing pack again this week. penfold and Baxter were unlucky with their 6-2 predictions for the Delting v Unst game, with the Delts defence shipping in 1 more than expected. Frankie's recent fancy for draws didn't stop him from making his half-century, but he'll now be looking over his shoulder with penfold looming large. 14. I'll put the new table up after I know the Celtic v Thistle result (anything other than a draw means we can close the gap on Frankie ). Sorry for the delay in posting this weekends fixtures. Hope everyone can still post their predictions in time. Premier League 6th June Scalloway 2 v 4 Whalsay Spurs 2 v 3 Whitedale Celtic 1 v 5 Delting Yell 1 v 2 Thistle Premier League 7th June Unst 3 v 4 Ness
  15. I forgot about that. Scalloway at 3/1 that means the bookies think they have more chance of winning the league than Whalsay
  16. My scepticism was justified. Shetlink is the only place to be for information about Shetland football. Thanks to all the regular posters for keeping me updated. Now where's that Celtic v Thistle result at...........
  17. Upside.........easiest tie possible. Downside.........lose this one and there will be little chance of being allowed to enter Highland League competitions again in the future.
  18. Speaking of the 2 cheating teams , there's a game on Monday night we need to get our predictions in for. Which team will pay the ref more Premier League Monday 2nd June Celtic 1 v Thistle 3
  19. It seems he's not the only one to have made that mistake. penfold seems to have suffered from the cut & paste feature. Baxter Benitez = no chance in the league, but decent in the cup Frankie Ferguson = The best, but can sometimes fail dismally in the cups Mourinho of Maywick = ? (Over-confident. Methodical approach sometimes costs him points when a bit of flair & imagination is needed?)
  20. The Manson Cup. Same format as the Madrid Cup. Can Baxter Benitez add another trophy to his cabinet, or will Frankie Ferguson take his league form into the cup? Preliminary round 2/6/08 Scalloway 2 v 3 Whitedale Yell 1 v 4 Spurs Quarter-Finals 09/06/08 Thistle 0 v 2 Whalsay Celtic 1 v 3 Whitedale Delting 3 v 1 Spurs Ness 3 v 2 Unst Semi-finals 16/06/08 Ness 0 v 2 Whitedale Whalsay 2 v 3 Delting Final Delting 4 v 1 Whitedale
  21. The Madrid Cup competition is actually over. Nobody managed to predict any correct scores so far. The Madrd Cup has proved that the cups give the weaker teams (or players in this case ) a chance of glory. The only person to pedict the finalists is our winner. So congratulations to................... Baxter!!! Here's how many games everybody got right. Baxter 5 (will surely be 6 after Whalsay beat Celtic) Stoichkov 5 EISTnWAST 4 MiM 4 brokenlink 3 Frankie 3 Gervais 3 Marshall 3 penfold 1 I tried to putting Baxter's name in gold, but it didn't look right. I then decided he would appreciate it being in Unst blue How about a speech from our Madrid Cup winning Messiah?
  22. Premier League 30th May Delting 5 v 1 Unst Scalloway 3 v 1 Spurs Ness 0 v 2 Whitedale
  23. Scalloway Seven Sends Stoichkov Soaring The race for second place is intensifying after Stoichkov somehow predicted the 7-1 outcome of the Scalloway v Yell game. With Celtic and Spurs playing their Madrid Cup semi-final it was a difficult week to earn big points. The only consolation was that Frankie's regular supply of inside information let him down for once. Despite there only being 3 fixtures this Friday, it looks to be an interesting week. We'll have a good opportunity for people to get some correct scores, and we'll also find out the winner of the Madrid Cup competition. Frankie 49 Marshall 34 penfold 34 Stoichkov 31 EISTnWAST 30 MiM 30 Baxter 23 brokenlink 21 Mr Brain 10 hellsbells 6
  24. At the moment there is a situation where supporters of non OF teams celebrate a victory against them as if they had won the league. What they seem to forget is that they will lose the next 3 games they play against that OF side. 1 win and 3 loses means 6 points behind. 1 win and 1 loss and you're even. Despite it making the league more competetive, there's no way we'll have a 16 team SPL in the near future. It would be impossible to fetch a decent price for the TV rights.
  25. Premier League 23rd May Whitedale 4 v 1 Unst Ness 1 v 5 Delting Whalsay 4 v Thistle 3 Spurs 3 v 1 Celtic Yell 1 v 3 Scalloway Premier League 26th May (Postponed Fixtures) Anybody know what games will be played?
