  1. Cheers to them too. Amazing is the word indeed!!!
  2. Brilliant guy- thanks so much for this. Have a good one!!!
  3. This would be a great idea Derick. I have been doing just this in fact in terms of recognising the fair and balanced coverage we have been attracting and the fact that this in itself will may be important in this instance we are told. They seem to have been very surprised by the fact we have done this, so if any of you feel the urge to to this too that would be brilliant. Cheers for that
  4. I think this is probably a very good idea seeing as how this post is so widely read and, from many points of view anyway, so important to the campaign. I have used a bit o dialect myself but yes I think it would be good for all if we were to keep it straightforward for everybody.
  5. No problem at all. They canna ber everywhere at all times but they are giving it their best shot, outwith work commitments etc. Some have even taken holidays to do it too
  6. Really cant understand this one given we have been posting new information on this thread daily - but just in case you have missed this let me sum up whats going on at the moment: New posters out New t-shirts out Petitions still being circulated and filling up Fund raising events being arranged and starting to be publicised Alistair Carmichaels Early Day motion in the Commons attracting support of a growing number of MP's - read other threat to find out how to do this. Letter of character reference / support being sent to lawyer before the trial - again read page 28 of thread to find out how to do this. Donation bank account being opened this week On line donations opened up On line t-shirt sales being discussed Two big items in the national press today BBC Radio 4 arriving here tomorrow etc etc Dont think because the story is temporarily out of the national news headlines that the campaign has stopped - far from it. For the press the next big date is the 7th July so we are all surprised and delighted that the story is still finding its way into the natiionals today. We are all still working all hours to make sure that justice is delivered for Sakchai so rest asssured no-one directly involced with this camapign is taking anything for granted - again far from it.
  7. When out and about most of team wear the 'original' Sakchai t-shirts. Other with them may not have these but official team members all have them.

  10. Possibly quite true but this to date has only come fro one source and as has been made clear earlier in this thread there seems to me to be something personal in this and I still hear the sound of private axes being ground to some extent at least. What I mean by visable and credible is quite simply any one who has made themselves directly known to me and who has actually witnessed this happening first hand. None to date so far. Its a very serious insinuation and as such all I'm saying is that I would prefer to hear it from someone up front not a single source that we cannot identify or verify who has alreay pinned their personal colours and issues to the mast earlier in this thread.
  11. Just the noraml petitions and new campaign posters. Just for the record we have also got great press on Sakchai in the Sunday Times and the Scottish Sunday Mail. So the story goes on. Radio 4 'Today' show is here tomorrow and Tuesday to commence the lead in to the hearing on 7th July so we also welcome that. Will keep you in touch with any other developments. I the meantime please keep up the writing and the petitons, especially to the MP's re Alistairs Early Day Motion in the Commons. See Polar Bears post how to do this. All of this is STILL incredibly important perhaps more so that ever now. Thanks again to everyone involved and keep up the quite amazing work rate. Cheers again Davie and the SfS team
  12. In fairness to the lads and lasses Sam this was most certainoly NOT their approach and to be honest never has been although this has been suggested before. No-one is being pressurised to either sign or donate and I have certainly received no complaints of this either directly or through a visable or credible third party.
  13. T-shirts from Intersport on the street and see the campaign boys about getting posters
  14. Thanks for this Sam. This has indeed been done. A constitution has been drawn up and agreed and there are 6 formal and independant signatories on the document. These can be supplied if required. this has been drawn up by the Bank of Scotland in line with all their requirements and procedures, hence the time it has taken to open. The online donations are through the recognised Paypal system and will be transferred straight into the account once open. It cannot be trasnferred to any other account. Every penny used will and is being receipted to it can be totally audited from top to bottom. In short hopefully as formal and legal as we can possibly make it.
  15. Oh and just something I realise I had forgotten the other night and meant to put right. When I said thanks to everyone who had helped bring Satch home on Wednesday I should also have singled out the guys at Shetlink of course. God know's what we would have done without your service, skills and dedication in this particular respect. And now we have on-line donations, T-shirts sales etc etc. Amazing!!!! A million un-repayable thanks to you all. We'll at least have a pint or two with you however this works out Cheers again lads
  16. Thanks again for all your help PolarBear. Having just had a chat with Sakchai's lawyer this kind of thing is taking on INCREASING importance. She is compiling a list and copies of ALL media articles n terms of evidence relating to Sakchai's case and I am doing some bits and pieces with and for her in this respect. NOW THIS IS YOUR PART - IMPORTANT Alexandra wants EVERYBODY who feels inclined to write her a letter of support for Sakchai - detailing how (or even if) you know him i.e. swimming lessons, athletics, friend, neighbour etc etc and set our the reasons why you think he should stay in Shetland. A letter from anyone and everyone will be important in this respect. However I will be targeting some prominent people to add the strenght of voice to the campaign. These letters need not be limited to Shetland of course. She ideally needs them FIVE WORKING DAYS before his court appearance so aim to have them with her by NEXT FRIDAY if you can. Her address is: Ms Alexandra Bartrope, Browell, Smith & Co Solicitors Pearl Assurance House 7 New Bridge Street West Newcastle on Tyne NE1 8AQ Please pass the word around and lets make this, together with the petitions which will also be submitted to the judge, a REAL show of community feeling and strength on this one. Can I also ask everyone to push the petitions again, door to door if need be, keep writing to the usual suspects and also follow PolarBear's guidelines re encouraging MP's to sign the early day motion. And finally just one small very nice story for you. I had a call today from a gentleman in Lerwick who is permanently confined to bed through disability asking if the campaign boys could come along his house so that he could sign the petition. Need we say more Davie and team
  17. We've got a few printed but more coming today and then will get them on this site too as I said. Thanks to all for the fund-raising efforts and ideas - great stuff. We are going to need it I can assure you before this is over. I agree with Polar Bear on the additional issues. The Ernesto Leal case is also very worrying and I, and I am sure we, will do everythng we can to supprt him and his family in this respect. Given the time constraints on us at the moment it's unlikely that we will be able to bring the two cases or campaigns together in a strategic manner, but they have my/ our strong support (whatever that may be worth) then I for one will be happy to lend more committed support to this after the 7th July when we know the outcome of Satch's case and where we go from there. In the meantime I would ask all supporting this campaign who have concerns re similar injustices to spare not only a thought in this respect but a bit of their time to help this family out as well. Then we will see where we go from there in a larger context. Cheers and thanks Davie
  18. This is amazing work again PB so can we once again offer a million thanks for all your committed efforts on this. We at SfS would srongly recommend that all working for this capmaign give this a high level of priroity and see if we can move some big wheels. If you can also find the time to do the USUAL e-mailing etc too that would of course be great too, but this seems like a great new way forward. Thanks again for this and lets all get on the case.
  19. Brilliant Davie! Would it be possible to email me a copy poster and I can get it printed off at my work before close of play on Friday? Will do all being well. Will also get it on this site for download. It looks pretty good I think. Thanks once again to Brian, Stuart and Jonathan at the Shetland Times
  20. They will sell for £10 with all profits to the camapign fund. Discussing an on-line option as we speak. Will see if we can get the posters done asap.
  21. They came from the Shetland Times and you are right its probably time for an update. By the way the new T-shirts are available from Intersport today. All profits are going to the campaign fund so a million thanks to Kevin Denvir and his team there for this incredible offer of support. Cheers again for now Davie PS Bryan - still trying to make time (difficult to get the head above water at the moment) to get back to de re the on-line sales but it would be a massive help if du could ring Kevin Denvir direct on this first and see how feasible it is from their point of view first. His number is (01595) 694959 Also just go ahead and set up the on-line donations now the account is nearly there. Is this ok and is there anything du needs from the SfS team to do this? Will catch de later Davie
  22. Will get this sorted for you today, all being well Thanks to all of you for turning out at the airport yesterday and the Clickimin last night - amazing scenes that will stay with us all forever - whatever the final outcome (lets think positive though) Thanks to everyone who made this happen and that means ALL of you and EVERYONE who helped, especially Alistair Carmichael, James Johnston, Joe Irvine, Tavish Scott, his leagal team in Newcastle and all the lads and lasses who worked so tirelessly on his behalf with petitions etc and of course Chris and all of you working with us on the mainland etc - amazing each and every one of you But let me reiterate that the fight has now only really BEGUN and up until his hearing on the 7th July and perhaps even beyond, lets really go for this with the petitions, e-mails, letters of support etc etc. Its clear to everyone that these are the elements, when tied into the incredibly visual community support that got, and continues to get, Sakchai's case noticed by the press, politicians etc, so please dont relax on this, especially now. Lets make it even more impressive and really give them something to sit up and take notice of at his immigration hearing next month when, as his lawyer has already pointed out, it will play a crucial role. Not far off, so please renew your assaults and efforts in this respect and lets bring him home for good next time around. We will keep you informed about other campaign issues and the fundrasing drive which is now getting fully underway. So if you feel the cause is worth, please keep or get involved. We, especially Satch of course need this more than ever. We are by no means out of the woods yet. It looks like the bank account may be a few days yet before we have it officially open - frustrating but just one of those things - security measures and all that. Might look at alternatives in the short term - bear with us. Since Sakchai got back yesterday its been one long furious round of media work and this is still ongoing - up this morning at 5am for GMTV -and its still all happenning as we speak. Will get back to you asap re all these and more and look out for a post from Sakchai himself very soon Cheers Davie and team Shetand for Sakchai
  23. Good thinking on all these point Sam. This is the kind of informal response that will mean the most to him and those 'watching', who will ultimately have a role to play in the decision whether he remains in this country or not. Cheers for this.
