  1. Was 20 in November, wouldn't mind being 26, decided that might be a nice age to be! 've known a few people who have said that they don't much fancy the idea of living past 30 (this was when I was about 16) Now they've only got a few years left I think they're saying 40 now!
  2. Oh and noticed matthew mentioning bout the ring trilogy's... Japanese horror's far creepier as western horror and usually doesn't have that in a happy ending which is always the best! When America re-makes Japanese horrors they just destroy them, i wish they'd leave them well alone, they made the grudge look like a walk in the park compared to the original which was just creepy as hell. Oh and Matthew you know me and I love manga!!! So you know at least one!
  3. I absolutely love anime, my mate just lent me Outlaw Star, which is meant to be amazing. I love Manga and read all the Akira novels after watching the film and they're much better (isn't a book always better than the film?) Katsuhiro Otomo who did Akira created a novel called Domu which is just briliant and has to be checked out by all Manga fans. And yes, Urotsukidoji (legend of the overfiend) cannot be used as an example of good anime unless your into the erotic cartoony kind (Hentai). Made the mistake of Thomas lending me it in 5th year and not telling me what it was about and telling the hostel boys to come watch it too in the 6th year hostel room. Both them and myself were in for a bit of a shock... haha!
  4. And it's not anywhere near as easy for US in Fetlar to travel from Fetlar concerts to town or indeed Unst! I actually think that giving priority to those outer islands who benfit so highly from the events being held there is a great idea and the whole folk festival should be held in places such as Skerries, Papa Stour, Fair isle, Fetlar and Foula... now wouldn't that be a great idea! That is why they gave priority to Fetlar this year, it's exactly one of those outer fringes as you described. What was so wrong with you hopping over to see the concert? (Which I might add was a great success and enjoyed by all!) ... there is no reason why you couldn't have done so or would you rather we have to go to Unst just so it's a litle easier on you?
  5. I've just been to the Scalloway Hotel and it was absolutely amazing so i'm going to tell you about how good it was! My boyfriend had the duck starter which was just beautiful! It was so well cooked, it was so moist and moreish and wonderful! I had the tomato soup which tasted rather like my own which I wasn't at all disappointed about. I then had the langoustines which were on special for the day which were just soooo nice and looked so pretty I even took a photo of it! He had the steak and ale pie which I have to say wasn't as good as one I've had at the Grand but was still very good. We were too full to have a pudding but overall very very good best meal out in years. Baroc- Best bar meals (and so well priced) only open 12-3 though. Museum- Great fishcakes. Karibuni- Just like the olive tree but for 1/4 of the price, absolutely brill! Can get paninis for around 2.00 and salad boxes for 2.30. Really good value for money. Sarmile- Best indian in lerwick Skipidock- Its so expesive to get anything there just now! Oslas- Used to work there so its a definate no-go for anything to eat. WARNING!!!! New Turkish shop on the street- Absolutely gross. So so so bad i'll never be eating there again. Got that chicken peices bucket set thing for a few friends and when they say pieces they're not lying! Its as though someone has got a whole chicken and chopped it up and fried every bit Ryan got a back bone and i'm nearly 100% sure I got its rear end if you know what I mean. I've gone off fried food for the rest of my life now I think which can't really be a bad thing!
