Indeed. I'd recommend them to anyone. Don't think the new album is up to Deadwing or In Absentia though.

http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/19/l_16d41bce447c45c980faf3cfff0d2dec.jpg Glasgow band The Red Show, featuring two Shetlanders, are due to record their new EP in the coming weeks and have a few gigs lined up to promote the recording. So if you're around Glasgow in August, feel free to come along to one of the shows and jive the night away. JULY 31 - Nice n' Sleazy, Glasgow (with Miss The Occupier, who also have Shetland links) AUGUST 13 - Cosmopol, Glasgow AUGUST 20 - BOX, Glasgow

This thread made me think of this, a story about a Shetlander and his experences with piracy http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/scottish/scottish_news/article82763.ece

I bought it via a link on his Myspace and consider it a sound investment...I really dig the back to basics, lo fi approach and I love the androgenous voice. Thumbs up from me!

Pehaps it wasn't just Rangers fans: http://blogs.notw.co.uk/newsoftheworld_scotland/2008/05/english-rent-a.html#more I got spoken to by a drunken man down here in Glasgow who had just been to the hospital to get his arm stitched up after being caught up in the troubles in Manchester...I asked if he followed Rangers, but no, he was a Celtic fan who was down there to cause a 'bit of trouble'.

Speaking as someone with 'alt' leanings, I appreciate SIBC's view...after all aren't they are a mainstream radio station playing chart-based music? Dedicated slots to specialist genres would be a good idea though.

May I wish Hutton all the best in his future endeavours. He's definately deserved his move to the EPL - pushed or not - and I look forward to seeing his swashbuckling runs on Match Of The Day in the coming weeks.

I see that Paul Di'Anno's (ex Iron Maiden singer) website lists him as playing in Shetland on the 7th of Jan 2008, with no venue listed. Anybody shed any light on this?
