If I was picked up by Raoul Duke and Dr Gonzo I think I would be a little scared. Not quite as bad as poor wee toby was in the back seat getting offered ether though!
  2. This whole business of throwing a cake in the door? An annoyance at most but hardly that serious. Yes I admit it isn't the nicest thing to happen but we should think about how lucky we are in Shetland. Down in Glasgow more than one of my mates have had the s**t knocked out of them for looking 'funny' at a ned. Another friend was stabbed as he walked around the corner from his local pub one night, by someone he had never seen in his life. I think complaining about a fancy being thrown into a shop really isn't that great a deal. But thats just me. I can see where the other side of the argument is coming from as in Shetland we are not used to this. Commercial street is heaven compared with Argyll Street on a Saturday night though.
  3. Welcome home Satch! Knew that government would see sense in the end! We will catch you for a drink and a spik when we all get back from Australia but just know we have been thinking about you the whole time that we have been here. Great to hear you are free, we had our own little celebration in Tasmania at 1am last night. We will have another dram tonight with my Aunt tonight in melbourne. DavieG will probably be writing his own piece so will leave it to him. All the best for now and see you soon mate Love Richie, Mikey, Arlene and Davie.
  4. Thanks to everyone for this moment! Especially DavieG, Alaistair Carmichael and James Johnston. Where would we have been without those three? It isn't worth thinking about. It couldn't have been done without everyones suppport so far, lets hope that come July 7th Satch is home for keeps!
  5. Vailron, The reason Sakchai recieves so much support is that he is a very well thought of, upstanding member of our community. He has payed his dues and is liked by everyone that is why we want to see him back. I think someone wasting away on drugs is a different type of person dont you?
  6. Hi everybody. We have worked for around an hour counting petitions this afternoon (The Paper Edition). The total so far is 5,723! And rising!
  7. As good a letter as i have seen yet Carly! Well said from top to bottom. Also if there is any man in Edinburgh that will get his point across about this campaign, Shaun Christie is the one! Fingers crossed MacConnel starts to sweat a little more about this one from tomorrow onwards.
  8. Just so this is on the new thread for those who haven't checked it today SHETLAND FOR SAKCHAI PUBLIC MEETING' A public meeting will be held on Tuesday 13th June to show support for this campaign. It is to be held in THE CLICKIMIN BOWLS HALL where Tavish Scott and Davie Gardner are expected to be making speeches, there will be music and Satch's sister Uthai and his Mum will be travelling to Shetland for it. I urge everyone who wants Sakchai back here in Shetland to attend this important meeting! SPREAD THE WORD. Thanks everyone, keep up this amazing work and see you Tuesday! Forgot to mention that the hard copy of the petition looks to be well over the 2000 mark. Thank you everyone!
  9. Not too happy at the overall reaction time of the home office and immigration so far. They seem to be shrugging off this massive protest. Full marks to Thomas Summers mum for the fantastic display of support on her house at the grantfield roundabout there. 'Eyecatching' does not do it justice. Make sure that the word of the public meeting on Tuesday evening on Sakchais proposed deportation is well spread to everyone you know. 7pm in the Clickimin bowls hall. A massive turnout is essential, without doubt there will be! Keep signing petitions, if you have full ones you want to hand in that have not been collected as of yet they can be delivered to 51 Haldane Burgess Crescent or handed in at the clickimin pool reception.
  10. Hey everyone, first of all a massive thanks to all those who have acknowledged and taken the time to sign the petitions we have been circulating around Shetland, also a big thanks to Ewan Anderson for his involvement in this process out west. This morning we have circulated the posters around the town and Davie will shortly be trying to get some out into the country to raise awareness in the Isles etc. We will be on the street in force again with petitions this lunchtime so if you have not already signed keep an eye out for us, we should stand out fairly well! If not they are available in most shops in and around the town centre. It is estimated we may already have over a thousand signatures (in 24 hours) simply amazing. I urge any of you who have not already signed the petition and wish to to do so before tomorrow as we will be collecting several in. Finally the staff at the SRT and everyone involved in the campaign would like to give a massive thanks to James Johnson, Davie Gardner and Alistair Carmichael for the tremendous efforts they have done in such a quick period of time. We feel priviledged to be represented by individuals such as yourselves and Shetland as a whole. Keep that support coming! Lets get Sakchai back to Haldane Burgess Crescent, Lerwick ASAP!
  11. Adrian and Sarah Henry. Thanks for this Aidsey and for everyone else who has written similar. We all share a common goal with this one so no thanks needed. I'm still looking at a public 'get-together' sometime next week soyou can all get involved in a more active way when we have a clearer picture of what and who we are actually fighting. Will keep in touch on this and also listen our for info on Radio Shetland. I have heard tonight that Satch might be moved again but, although this is frustrating in a legal sense, it might be for the best given the hole of sharn that Durham is bound to be. We will get another good lawyer wherever they send him and still plan to issue a writ on the police, immigration service and the Home Office, preferably Dr John Reid himself, over how Satch was dealt with yesterday. I've been in touch with Sky News so fingers crossed for even wider publicity. I've also got a slot on Radio Scotland's prime morning news programme Good Morning Scotland tomorrow at 8.10 so cheers to the Beeb again. Keep it going - there are all kinds of eyes watching this site I believe. Davie
  12. Just a quick note to say that Davie has agreed that the campaign to free satch is now to be called 'Shetland for Sakchai' as the other names could be interpreted other ways. Keep up the amazing effort everyone. Show your support as often as possible!
  13. Smeg is right i reckon. A demonstration in the town would really show the support we all have for Sakchai if it could be arranged. Its too short notice for the moment probably. Today would have been the best day for it as there should be coverage on the Scottish News tonight but as I said too short notice. Keep up the support! Lets bring Satch home for good!
  14. Thanks guys its so encouraging to see posts coming in so soon and quickly. Just reflects how liked Sakchai is. He belongs in Shetland. We need to get him home as quickly as possible, Thailand is nothing but a strrange country to him now where he knows no one. It is as muppet said just a quick and easy way to notch up statistics for the home office. We'll keep fighting Satch. Can't imagine work or Shetland without you man. Speak Soon! Richie
  15. Sakchai is as British and as much as a Shetlander as anyone of us. Hang on in there Satch. We are going to fight this mate. Can't wait to get you home where you belong. We will do everything we possibly can until then mate.
