I am up on Unst and find it really difficult to get down to Lerwick for classes. I don't drive and I have ASN kids so I was wondering if anyone is up for a bit of sparring/co-learning in the North Isles My background is Aikido and MMA, with a touch of boxing thrown in I am looking to get together and have a friendly spar and co-learn stuff. If anyone is interested, please message me.

There is also an MMA class two nights a week in Lerwick they are on facebook as Team Jigoku Shetland I think they also have a Saturday sparring class at the Clickimin 12;30-2.30

no4me2say Thanks for the info re the archaeology. Yes a lot of the primitive living skills are reconstruction or guesswork, but it's helpful to meet someone with similar or more experience in say knapping or basketry or making cordage.

Hi All I've recently moved to Unst. I have heard that there is an archaeology group locally and was wondering if anyone knew anything about them? Or how to get involved Also, I've just become interested in some of the primitive living skills and was wondering if there were any like-minded people locally ? It would be good to get together and learn from each other and chat.
