  1. At the time, some of us at the pool started to get an appeal going but to no avail. We were told that appealing may lengthen his sentence. Cant remember how that was the case, but we couldnt help anyhow. Doesnt really make sense. Katherine
  2. Just emailed SIBC asking to put on reminders about the rally in Clickimin tomorrow night. Hope that's ok. Katherine
  3. that what i was thinking and how can you repersent a regon and scotland if he was? so i guess he must be, but then if he is not then what is this all about? It's not that he is "illegal" as you ask, he has fallen foul of a Home office campaign that really has no relevance to his past or present behaviour. Though he has a past conviction Sakchai has proven himself to be an asset and a benefit to the community. The kind of people the Home Office are supposed to be looking for are very different. If you want more info then by all means ask. I, or anybody else, would be happy to detail what a disgracegul travesty of justice this is. Hiya, No, i know exactly what a disgraceful travesty of justice this is. I know Satch very well. Work with him at the pool for about 7 years. I am just confused about the whole thing and understand totally that it is just a quick figure hunt for the goverment. Just confused and sad.
  4. http://www.number10.gov.uk/output/Page821.asp (As quoted from website) The PM receives many thousands of letters, faxes, and emails every week. So unfortunately it is not practical for him to respond to all of your messages. However all the emails received are read by staff in Downing Street and each month the Prime Minister receives a report on the issues raised, together with a representative sample of emails, a small number of which he aims to answer. If the content of your message is private or personal, or you would like to be sure of a reply, you should write in confidence to Tony Blair at 10 Downing Street, London SW1 2AA. If enough people email, then it will be evident in his monthly report - surely. GO ON!
  5. Can someone tell me how that IF Sakchai is 'illegal' then how come this has not come up when he has his disclosures for Clickimin, or indeed when he served his prison sentence? Perhaps i have mis-understood something, but it just seems to me that this perhaps means our 'disclosure Scotland' checks are not what they are supposed to be. Just a thot.
  6. I, like everyone else can not belive what has happened to Sakchai. What is the most shocking i feel is the way in which the whole situation has been handled. For goodness sakes, a dawn raid with 5 police men and before you can say 'what the ....' he is in Aberdeen (?) with no contact to anyone. How inhumane and awful. What happened to 'innocent until proven guilty' or at least his own human rights not to be snatched up from his home without prior warning without being able to explain or give reasons. Sakchai has worked like everyone else, making a living, paying national insurance and taxes etc, etc. There are many more 'down and outs' who are local who just live on the dole but are not treated like that. Sakchai is a respectable member of our community and IS a Shetlander. It takes a long time for someone who was not born here to become a Shetlander rather than a 'sooth moother' and by the number of posts here, there are many more who agree. There are many who land on our shores as a refugee whom we accept into the country. Sending Sakch back to Thailand, where he knows no one, cant speak the language and will probably be called up into the Army seems like the reverse version of accepting refugees into this country. It is just plain awful. This government need a bloody good kick. If this is all for figures and facts they should be horridly ashamed of themselves when there are far worse citizens living here who, unfortunately were born and brought up in this country. We love you Sach! Hope to see you soon. Katherine xx
