  1. They'll no taste very good. Usually chickens that you buy are battery hens and are just young, so the meat is tender. My eens are a few year old and the meat is quite tough..... also I was hopin' tae do them in with my cricket bat. Dats a sausage that it's the H5N1 een. I might no kill dem anyhoo.... I might just keep them indoors and only kill them if it comes here. Weel see, I canna mak up my mind. Just jokin aboot the cricket bat all you animal rights activists (I am really going to use fireworks)
  2. I've never seen a chickens head explode (from natural causes) I think du might be thinkin' aboot da two peerie bairns in Turkey dat died efter they were playing with the heed of an infected bird (after it had been cut aff) and susequently caught the flu.
  3. What worries me about this one is that it was in China from 1996-2005 and then from 2005-2006, it has almost spread around the world, changing form as it goes. They (the scientists) reckon that its a far more vicious strain than the one that killed 20-40 million in 1918. The reason they can't develop a proper vaccine yet, is apperently because it's still mutating, and only when it changes into it's final form will they begin to know what they're up against, and try to develop a vaccine. We'll find out how bad it really is, I would imagine, when the birds all start coming North again. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the peerier birds have a stronger immune system against this. Can anybody shed light on this? I think it was Swans, Poultry (ie. hens and ducks) and Geese that were the most at risk? Anybody keen? I mind noo. The peerie birds could carry it with fairly few ill effects, but could pass it on easily. I should point oot as weel, that I agree we d pooks. I think it might end up lik the Foot and Mouth thing. Lots of birds will get slaughtered, but it should be contained, although I'm not sure. I'm a peerie bit "on the fence" aboot it.
  4. The virus has spread to humans, It just can't be transmitted easily from human to human (but that dosn't mean it can't). I'm no sure exactly how many folk have died fae this outbreak, but I think it's around 150 so far. As far as I keen, the only folk who should worry is Poultry farmers and folk like that. If it mutates more, and can spread from human to human...... everyone should worry a peerie bit. The fact that it's airborn makes it slightly more worrying than Aids in the respect that you could get it without ever doing anything. You can prevent yourself from getting aids (hopefully), but you can't really prevent yourself from breathing.
  5. As far as I keen they havna identified whether it's the H5N1 strain yet. The swan did test possitive fir the H5 part of the avain influnza, but only the H5N1 strain can be deadly tae humans. Bird flu happens all the time, just not this particular mutation of the virus. Wis there no a massive outbreak in the early 1900's that killed millions and millions of people? I'll try tae look it up. I have tae decide whether tae get rid of my hens or not now. I've just looked it up. It happened in 1918, and killed an estimated 20-40 million people. It was known as "spannish flu"
  6. I tried yin practical joke on a German boy, and filmed the outcome! I didna really film yin obviously

  14. Well, actually Rambo did it for me, because my arms got blown off by grenades this morning while I was saving the third world, while inventing a torch that can shine darkness, so people can populate the sun someday.

  16. I am 18 and 7/8ths, and I can tie my own laces and swim at the deep end. I lik dy artistic use of brackets Jeems. One square and one roond. It's very nice.
  17. PoolHaddock felt more than a little guilty as he announced check mate http://static.flickr.com/42/121953095_c0d65a3020.jpg
  18. This is turning into less of a random battle, and more into a game of strategy. Like chess. "It was a time of desolation and chaos. Njugle pitted against PoolHaddock. Brother pitted against Brother. Babies, having babies."
  19. *Meanwhile Backstage* Njugle the amazing Dog food eater, PoolHaddock's support act, gets into a bit of bother. http://static.flickr.com/34/121875755_4567507347.jpg (nevermind the massive desert eagle in his other hand)
  20. Eh? Crappin is fantasic.... *i better no say what I was gonna say here*
  21. "I really shouldn't have skived the board meetings" Njugle thought to himself, as he presented his plans for the new Cinema and Music Menu. http://static.flickr.com/40/121798348_8ac11b3cf7.jpg "whit do you mean site? It'll go apo da table!" "venue??? I thought this wis a high budget menu?!"
  22. Agreed. Churchill is een o' my favourite historical characters, and he was certainly a character. Has anybody else watched the "Churchill's Bodyguard" series on the discovery channel? I've read a lot of his quotes, but een of my favourites is: "This is the sort of English up with which I will not put"........ classic! If asked to name some of the most influential speakers in history, Churchill wid certainly be een o' da first tae pop intae my heed. (not poop into my head) There's hundereds of absolutely classic Bush quotes as weel: "I think we agree, the past is over" There's so many it's unbelievable!
  23. ^11/10^ I think I'm goin tae have tae retreat fir da night.... and hope that I can dream up an appropriate come back! The topical move was a good een... I'm already had a few ideas in dat vein.
  24. In an attemp to gain respect, Njugle hired an image consultant.... http://static.flickr.com/36/121455877_5c9c75a3e6.jpg ....but PoolHaddock was always there to undermine him. I'm still gaffin' fae yin monkey image!
  25. There's something painfully funny aboot yin image! Right, back tae the good auld fashioned photo battle, where it was more of a "scuffle" than a "war". "Ahh haa! Here's your problem", said the surgeon http://static.flickr.com/37/121398391_93e4e96a88.jpg
