You seem to be getting things rather muckle sphincter fur elby, don't you think? We always were an Independent Nation in the past and we can be again. As for what the differences would be.....I strongly suspect that if Scotland were independent we wouldn't be fighting an illegal war right now. A war which, in the eyes of our 'enemies' at least, makes all of us legitimate targets wherever we go in the World.

Every other Country in the world strives for independence. Why not us? Something in the water maybe?

Personally I couldn't care if we're financially better off or not as an independent Nation. That shouldn't be what independence is about, IMO. Anyway, it'll happen whether we cause it or not. I strongly suspect England will vote Tory next time and that'll cause some fun between Westminster and Holyrood. Can't wait!

So how would you describe the person who posted it on the football forum in the first place? Hardly the action of a shaven-headed, knuckle-dragging stereotypical football fan, surely? For your information the best-known Heart of Midlothian forum jamboskickback2 has as a sticky an appeal for support for Ernesto Leal - another individual in a similar situation. Take off the blinkers Zorro - we're all in this for the good of those less fortunate than we who DO currently have the freedom to debate these issues. I didn't see any "debate" in that thread, just an opportunity for bigots to have a rant. I wasn't questioning the guys intent with the thread, just where he chose to start it. I certainly wasn't attacking him. And I don't have blinkers on mate. Less of the damn cheek, if you don't mind.

For what it's worth I think the plea on the football forum is absolutely worthless. You're highly unlikely to find any liberal, open-minded souls on a fitba' board, are you? And liberal, open-minded souls are precisely who we need to appeal to. Whoever said there's no such thing as bad publicity was a fool. Segatrix, you're on a hidin' to nothing here (just a friendly opinion). Far too much energy is being wasted here when it should be being directed elsewhere.

Aye but there is a difference when it comes to law. At least there was a difference when the Lockerbie suspects were being tried. I must do more research. As an aside, when the Tories are victorious in Little Engerland next time I think we'll see Jacko jumping over barrels to appeal to folks in Scotland. Should be an interesting twist don't you think?

Does anyone know why the goon squad took Sakchai to Durham? I mean, we have airports in Scotland don't we? The reason I ask is that Sakchai was found guilty of his crime in a Scottish Court. As far as I know we still have our own legal system in this Country. Does a case in the Scottish legal system have any bearing on British law? I'm sure they'll have thought of a way around this but I'm not a legal eagle and thought someone here might know better.

What the Government is doing here is an absolute disgrace. I'm 41 and the most cynical guy you'll meet, but I never saw this coming. We must stand together, whatever happens. These deeds must be remembered. For good or bad.

Hi folks. I just had to register to express the concerns of my wife and I. What the Government has done is completely outrageous! You all know that. I have signed the petition and hope to get the poster up around Dundee also. Everybody, hang in there. Our thoughts HAVE to count for something. OK, I've started threads on 4 seperate forums where I frequent. I hope it helps. Tonight, if it's at all possible, my LFS Racing Team will be carrying links to the petition page. Generally we go too fast to read any of the ads but I'll try to make it visible. Stay cool folks. My thoughts are with you all.
