  1. Hi There Sorry, been busy getting ready for the formal opening today... Menu cards with more detail are coming - just wanted to fine tune the variety according to demands so have been holding back for that. The curries we are currently doing are of an authentic taste and therefor limited at this time. It's not one of our main products but we're sure you would enjoy them. However other curry options will become available when we get our next chef. As to Gluten free and other specialist diets, this is on the cards but as the saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day so my apologies that this is not currently available. Both training and strict guidelines have to be laid down to be able to offer these. And BTW breakfasts are restarting from 9am this coming Monday. Feel free to keep the comments & queries rolling.
  2. Thanks - I did mean March of course. Time really flies when ur having fun Here's your prize
  3. Sorry that you couldn't get a table, Gypsyscy. Basically Saturday lunchtimes are manic as many families come for a meal while they're out. We're open 7 days from 12 till 11pm so hopefully you can make it again sometime. We are using a waiting list as well when we're busy so that we can get everyone seated ASAP and in an orderly fashion. The reason the stools haven't been used are because we're finding very few ppl want to sit there - we were hoping that they would have got used by individuals or maybe by couples but it's been a non-starter. The other reason we haven't pushed it has been because the stools are quite close to the tables and people at the tables don't appear to like the lack of privacy if you know what we mean. We will probably be removing the bar and adding more tables soon. In the next month or so we should also have outside seating arranged once the balcony/ballustrade is in place. And yes we're continuing our training and hoping for an official opening on 18th Feb. Thanks for all the feedback - it's very useful.
  4. Would like to say thanks for the words of support and also for the constructive comments above. Have ordered some more high chairs and a nappy unit will be installed albeit in the disabled toilet. There really isnt any other space available. We're still finding our feet as to demand and taking into account that it's mostly families and friends or couples, it's looking likely that we could end up removing the bar chair area and popping in some more tables and chairs instead. As for pricing of our products, the pasta quoted is our most expensive option - our Flames Special Pasta which contains chicken and is quite a reasonable sized portion. On the burger front - (Noodeyn) if it didn't contain salad, cheese and sauce then let me know - it shouldn't be a plain burger unless you ask for it in this way. Unfortunately it's not possible to compete with BK and McDonalds as we don't have the same buying power nor access to cheaper mains gas - couple that with cost of freight to Shetland. At the end of the day it's about tasty food at a reasonable price - so far everyone seems to be enjoying it and we're doing our best to deliver it. As for the drinks, the cans are actually £1.10 but we will soon be putting in bottomless drinks similar to pizza hut around the same price as they do. By the time we "officially" open, we will *try* to have a kids menu sorted too. Thanks again - it's good to know where we need to improve in order to bring you what you want.
  5. Hi there I'll try and keep this post as short as possible Firstly apologies to : 1) PaulBs daughter for the error caused by a combination of staff understanding, lack of training, and the menu which was reprinted on Friday due to this problem between the Chicken Tikka and the Chicken Kebab. We are corresponding with PaulB on this matter. 2) The hundreds of people affected by our closure on Saturday afternoon due to an unexpected onslaught of customers starting around 10am - even though no official opening had taken place, publicity caused by the ST "opening soon" piece, rave reviews on Facebook by some customers and coupled with the same by word of mouth led to the place running out of many of our products (much of which is produced fresh) by 1.30. Hand on heart we didn't see it coming. Although I'm used to running similar operations in Glasgow the warehouses there are open 7 days a week and carry a bigger stock of the products we require. 3) Those affected on Friday evening by the tampering of our gas bottles by a third party (which was duly reported to the police) causing the gas flow to be unworkable. It took us a couple of hours to get it resolvd and was outwith our control. As we are new, we're bound to have some teething problems. Its good to know you love the food and that we've got the basic idea right. We are still undergoing major staff training as it has been impossible to find trained/experienced staff here. Please bear with us on this point. Some decisions have had to be made whilst we step back and review the best way to move forward. For the time being we are going to stop the breakfasts giving us more training and preparation time for the lunch hours. We will continue Mon - Fri buffet lunches. The full main menus will be only be available 12 noon till 2pm and from 5pm till 11pm whilst between 2pm and 5pm it will be pizza, burgers & chips only along with teas, coffees, cakes etc. Saturday may be the exception - we'll review things later in the week as I understand its going to be a long weekend for the kids this week... Any suggestions (or complaints) etc, please feel free to contact me... Akhee PS Still awaiting BT to install the phone line for which they have quoted 36 Working Days - how do people put up with this up here ?
