trout
Just had a top nosh session at Howies in Aberdeen (Chapel St. off Union St.)! Fire alarm went off "in da haert 'o it", but this was fine 'cos the staff were great and gave a discount. Main point of my post is to say that the food itself was fantastic. All the Howies in Edinburgh bar possibly the one on Victoria St. should take note on how to prepare and serve food! Mmm. Shetland mussels for starters - cooked "just" right with a beautiful pine nut/creamy sauce. Beef and onion stew - cooked to perfection (though the extra cooking from the fire alarm incident might have actually made it even better!?), and sticky toffee pudding (huge portion) for desert! Altogether a top meal with great service and nice cosy surroundings. Would return - definitely!
CrunchieSquirrel
When my mother went to Amsterdam for a little break of her terrible children (me and my sister). When she came back, she bought some sprinkles that you can put on your toast instead of using the knife. I loved it so much that I used up the whole box! I was such a greedy pig when I was little!
