fratelli
Can anybody who has recently bought a hoose let me know roughly how much I can expect to pay a solicitor for conveyancy? We have no house to sell and wouldn't be paying stamp duty... It's been a long time since I last bought a house so I expect it to more than I remember! Guest CyprusPluto
It cost me £850 just 2 months ago, but prices will depend on the land registry position of the property. I understand solicitors on the mainland are somewhat cheaper

fionajohn
land already decrofted belongs to a relative our house on the land and relative will let us buy the bit around our house hence the token £50 for land

Guest CyprusPluto
The £850 didn't include the stamp duty, but all the legal stuff and fees for a purchase price in excess of £200k. No survey.
