paulb Posted April 10, 2013 Report Share Posted April 10, 2013 SADLY the only way mammoths could have got here is if they swam. orkney was connected just after the last ice age so a nellie could have packed her trunk and had a holiday there. it took me a few minutes to realise it was april the 1st. seriously mammoth tusk could be washed here from the sea. unlikely but possible.
