Claadehol
I am just returning after a jaunt round Portugal and Spain. I was amazed at the quantity of very big salt cod on sale everywhere, in supermarkets, shops, markets, everywhere..... Just stacks of it.Is this the same cod that Shetland fishermen have not been allowed to land? Perhaps some fishermen on here can enlighten me here as my knowledge here is limited.Do the Spanish or the Portuguese have a large stock of cod in the Bay of Biscay or are these fish the result of Spanish boats lying off Shetland for most of the year?Perhaps they come from Iceland waters, I may be on the wrong track here.
