These travelers contribute absolutely nothing to the local community they just TAKE TAKE TAKE from the locals then clear off with the money, how can they even be allowed to live here without atleast paying council tax like the rest of us, We should all be complaining to our local councilors and MSP to have the council or police remove them

Yes I notice it is from Shurton Brae on the south road to Sutherland Brae on the north road so the whole of the Lerwick area including all breaches harbours, marinas and peat banks, I wonder what the statistics are re-guarding the number of people fined and the amounts over the 5 or so years its been in force

And how is it that visitor on yachts can sit around the town centre drinking but the locals cant

Surely this is not the point either its legal or not, surpossing a dozen of us want to sit on the beach drinking beer and singing songs in the sun shine round the barbie next thing we know the SWAT team have surrounded us

I was wondering with Lerwick having a ban and possible £500 fine for drinking alcohol anywhere in the town, does this mean that even on a sunny day you are not allowed to sit on the beach at Sound and drink a cold beer? ps please save your comments about not getting any sunny days

Does anyone know which areas of Lerwick the scheme will be expanding to? I guess some of the new customers will already be on a district heating route, but what new streets will be covered?

I heard the other day that the SIC are planning a four and a half day week for there workers as from next month, with workers going home at 12 noon on a friday. Is this true? In particular it sounds like the Roads Dpt . Does this mean that roadworks will be left unattented from 12 on a friday until a monday morning? Also as i was reading in another tread, how will this effect the gritting of the roads in the winter? I know the SIC are tring to cut costs these days but surly working a 4.5 day week is not the best way of increacing productivity and cutting costs. Sounds like a step in the wrong direction to me.

I walked past Harbour Street today and I think it is looking lovely, well done to them guys that are working there, I think its the sic roads dpt, done it quick too. Praise where praise is due.
