  1. Good shout this, usually if you go around 9pm/9.30pm then they're shouting deals over the tannoy, i've got a 2nd freezer with a lot of half price meat in it, not sure how long you can store frozen meat for though.
  2. Pathetic as you think I am I had no idea you were a local shop owner but at least my post was fairly helpful and not a sweeping statement, as Biglad says, maybe you should support your fellow tradesmen, they get enough muck thrown at them on this forum. Some really good ideas on this thread, am away to buy a crate of Tetley tea bags.........PEACE!!!!!
  3. Oh yeah, how could I forget...............brew your own beer, saves me a fortune
  4. Pathetic post that Shetland_boys. Check out local prices first and compare them to online, a good few of the town shops have definately got their act together. I've turned the storage heating off on 4 of the 5 heaters I have in the house, hopefully won't be switching them back on till Late October. Generally switch off all appliances in the house unless i'm using them. If you have the space and time then growing your own veg is good. If you have a car, park it up for the summer and get a bike or walk, with the cost of fuel just now that would be a huge saving, better still sell it and use public transport where possible. If like me you have a gym membership then cancel it for the summer and utilise the great outdoors for your physical excercise, you'll also be able to work on that tan, so say cheerio to wasting a fortune on tanning products and expensive tanning beds, if your that way inclined Bloody good idea for a thread, i'll be keeping an eye on this
  5. Fair play Skooper I'm actually in need of a new one as well, what was the make and model of the one you bought as i may purchase it also, if it fits that is. Thanks
  6. £110 cheaper!!!! Sorry Scooper, ain't believing that one, was the HE having a 50% off clearance sale???!!! Bloody missed out again
  7. Usually Dodie Roberstons can order what you want, have you tried them? Also I think John Lewis deliver for free but remember shipping from Aberdeen usually costs around £40 so factor that in to your cost!
  8. Seen yun on the news tonight EM, unbelievable!!! I went to Tesco a little later and was decidedly nervous walking around for the first few minutes, couldn't get that story out of my head....
  9. He was supposedly dumped at sea, i suppose they could send doon a dive team with shovels
  10. Am sure there's some good points here but i gave up reading after the first sentence
  11. He was a mass murderer, he got of lightly. The 1000's of innocents who were murdered on 9/11, were burned, crushed or either jumped to there deaths, many of them would have suffered horrific pain.......I'm glad he's dead!!!
  12. And what was the outcome of the Eichmann trial???
  13. I've seen PC Plod driving while using a mobile phone both in a police car and in their own car. The one in the police car was only last week and he was going up the town hall brae, i couldn't believe my eyes.
  14. ^^^^ Well done Ali Inkster, I think he has only pointed out what a lot of Shetlanders think. A lot of public money has been ploughed into Shetland businesses over the years only to see them go bust while the owners go on to become property magnates by buying up old buildings, doing them up and selling them on for profit but, thats another thread completely. Back on topic, would the Thule be able to keep their sign if they didn't switch it on??? I passed it yesterday and never noticed it until on my way back to the car when someone mentioned it. It pales into insignificance when you look up at the signage on 'Harry's' building. The whole thing is a joke!!!
  15. I've also had no problems with my milk being off, I go through between 4 and 6 pints per week. I will admit that today I did struggle to get the top off a bottle but i'm not going to cry into my milk about it ps. The bottle I opened today was 2 days over the best before date and it was fine.
  16. I wonder how they break up the workload? Would you take an hour each? In any case what an absolute sh*t job, how LONG would that day be??!!
  17. Surely the choice of site was a human error? Sorry EM, that's what i meant
  18. I would also have nuclear power over wind power any day. I think you have to bare in mind that the problems facing Fukishima were caused by the earthquake/tsunami not human error or faulty equipment, you could definately argue that building a nuclear plant on a site which is on a known fault line is taking a bit of a chance. What's your views Sailor?
  19. From SIC officer: The actual wording of the byelaw states that: These byelaws shall not apply - (a) on 31 December, from 6pm until the end of that day; ( on 1 January, until 6am; © on the last Tuesday of January (Lerwick Up Helly Aa); and (d) on the Wednesday following the last Tuesday of January.
  20. Check youtube, plenty of tutorials on there. I really only play black ops, searched youtube for a fix yesterday and took the easy option. I load up MW2 first and go into multiplayer, where my NAT type will read 'Open', then i load up Black Ops and, heh presto, my NAT type now reads 'Open' where it was 'Strict' before. Some people think thats a bit of a hassle but it only tyakes a coupke of minutes.
  21. Thanks for all the help guys, i'm thinking switching my ISP may be the only solution, if that is a solution:( Does anybody on here have the same problem? Are you with BT if you are? If your not experiencing the same problem then who's your ISP? Thanks
  22. Thanks Twerto, I'll give that a go tomorrow
  23. Cheers SP, I've managed to change my NAT type, quick google search.....doh!!! I'm playing on a PS3, Game Booster sounds like something for a PC????
  24. Thanks for the info KoFUN & SP, My NAT is 'strict', i have no idea how to change this, sorry, i'm useless with bloody technology. Any suggestions for another ISP? I've jst taken a package with BT for a year, got unlimited download(option 3) for £10pcm, thought this was a gd deal at the time, now thinking i wouldn't mind paying a little extra so my ps3 online exp was better. Also, no idea about 'Pings' but i just did a test using ThinkBroadband: D'load 1mbps U'load 0.4mbps Ping 85ms This is pretty normal where I am, Is this ping speed any use? Thanks
