  1. I've been absolutely shocked and saddeneed at the manner in which Sakchai has been treated and would like to do more to lend a hand. The level of support he is receiving is amazing and really touching.Unfortunatley couldn't be involved in any of the meetings in Shetland or Edinburgh but if anybody needs a hand with anything in the Glasgow area I'd be more than willing to help.
  2. Cool, I'll nip to the one on Great Western Road. Tahnks for that. Hope du's fine.
  3. Clearly can't type either!
  4. Fantastico. Thanks Bryan. I take it that's one fo the shops opposite the shopping centre? Will I just ask the fellow (or fellowette) in the shop how to work with the photos and hellery or is it pretty sraighforward? Bearing in mind my level of technical ability....or interset, rather!!
  5. Ah. My phone's an old battered Panasonic fax. Does that dongle thing cost money?
  6. Tanks ta dee. I did try but I'm pretty clueless to be honest. Don't go to any bother though it was just on the offchance that somebody might know! Cheers.
  7. Those kinds of questions scare me! Well, it's a Dell...need more info? I can't see any names or numbers....Apart from Optiplex GX280. Does that make sense?
  8. Eh....I dunna ken. (I'm a bit of an ignoramus when it comes to computers) Do you have to download it? Is there another way to transfer them? Whatever the case the easiest option would be sweet!
  9. Complete technophobe here! Does anybody know how to bluetooth photos and videos from your phone onto your computer? Or can you transfer them by some other means? I've tried, but failed, to figure it out! Cheers.
  10. Totally in agreement on the litter front. Another two top sources of annoyance, 1) Noisy eaters! (Totally unnecessary) 2)SPITTING!
  11. Njugle, I'm nearly pi*hed me breeks. Whit a gluff!
  12. Njugle, du read me towts!! Mrs Priest is a legend! She totally brought our imaginations and sense of history alive. I think it's really important to have an understanding of your dialect, folklore and literature. I'll never forget reading about 'Terry Mittens, Peestre Leetie, and Truncher Face'. Ah, Vagaland. Superb. Mmeorable indeed.
  13. I can totally understand where you're coming from. I know loads of great musicians from the isles, I'd imagine there would be a good few benefiting. Also, perhaps there will be programmes introduced that entail outreach workshops to the isles or schools from the isles making visits etc. I don't know. Perhaps I can tend to be a little unrealistic . I'm just trying to be as optimistic as possible and ,like you, hope it works for the best. So, I suppose what I meant by 'improving opportunities' was that the centre will hopefully be a great source for the community in terms of access and education within music/arts. Sorry if I'm sounding a bit airy fairy but I don't know any of the proposed details in this area, I'm just considering possibilities.
  14. I understand people from the isles may not be attending the centre as frequently as Shetlanders on the mainland but perhaps when there' s talk of the centre/venue benefiting the whole of Shetland it's meant in a larger context, i.e improving opportunities, facilities and education for musicians or those in the music industry and possibly providing Sheltand with a promising cultural future?
  15. Whit wis da name o yun book...somethin aboot men an weemin an Mars and Venus!! Happy craning!
  16. Female alert! I am absolutely flabbergasted by this thread!!?? Especially fae dee Peerie Bryan, I thought this wouldn't appeal to a guy who uses the synonym of Prancing Clarence.
  17. Apologies for double post and appalling spelling and grammar ....I never preview my posts!!
  18. Thought I'd put a peerie post in this section since it's been neglected for a week. I'm currently in the middle of writing an essay on Virginia Woolf. Is anybody an admirer? I thhink she's an amazing writer. I know a few people who have been put off after attempting Mrs Dalloway. If that's not your cup of tea, I'd recommend reading her shorter fiction. it's fantastic.

    Sushi

Veggie here, canna bear it! Even the seaweed oozes the odour of fish oil. (Or perhaps that's my imagination. ) I optimistically made a whole plateful whilst planning a super health kick. Tried on several occasions to eat the sushi but byocked dat much the tears were running doon me face. Fortunately some faantin menace ate the whole plateful!
  20. Jeemie Nora. Why wis dere scaffolding dere?! Hey, whit aboot a Ramstams/Hammfatters double whammy (Ramm Hamm Whammy) ...with a touch of building materials thrown in?
  21. Marvin, you said in an earlier post that the Fort was mentioned as a possible location. Do you know the details of what was discussed? Just thought it sounded like the most realistic alternative in terms of it's position, ie right next to Islesburgh and the North Star. Also, were thay considering the inclusion of the ground as well. Could have been beneficial in the summer time.
  22. Hmmm, need me on the dust infested sax? Think I could just about manage that. Accurate self observation. I can mind coming to a few Ramstams rehearsals when I was peerie and loving it. I've been told the actual gigs were a spree. A tale of Jim Barney hanging from scaffolding at the North Star springs to mind. Or have I made that up??...
  23. Oh please do! I kind of missed that era. Although I was at the comeback gig in Brae. I'm sure I remember a certain Mr Peterson had swopped a bass guitar for a trumpet!
  24. I'm sorry to hear that, I can understand your frustrations. As I said, perhaps she didn't deal with situations in the best possible way and perhaps she could have done more research. I honestly don't know enough about the situation to critisize, but I just felt that the manner of the post was a bit harsh. It's a real shame the facilities in Shetland aren't suffice and you feel it's an unsuitable place for poeple with autism to live in. Perhaps there's a good point being made then? Do you mind me asking if you think it's a current crises or if the situation is likely to improve? Are there any plans for improvements?
