  1. As a purchaser of the original tickets I feel a bit conned. I paid for a 4000th of the Holmsgarth arena and it now appears that I will get a 5500th of the arena
  2. Iv'e never had a scooter (its on my list of things to do before I die though) but I have run a fully faired 125 one winter without much bother with wind. You say that you are having difficulty in winds of 15 mph - have you checked your tyre pressures, and are your steering stem bearings ok?
  3. Winter in Shetland is what keeps me from emigrating! Drive to a rocky coast on the weather side of our little island during a storm and soak up the immense energy. Climb a hill on a frosty January day. Sit outside and NOT get bitten by midges. Get drunk on a cold wet afternoon without worrying that you should be "doing something sensible". Have an extra martial affair on a dark evening. Then utilise that guilty feeling to do some interior decorating. And the best thing about winter is that its nearly SPRING.
  4. I ride a bike every day all year through - unless I have to pick up the children or its snowing heavily. My advice for riding in wind is to stay relaxed on the bike. If you grip the bars too tightly every movement of the wind will be magnified. One other thing is to watch out for oncoming trucks and slow right down as they approach. What's really scary is ridding on ice when cars, who can travel faster in these conditions, drive about two metres behind you.
