This whole incident is sickening and i truly hope that we'll have Sakchai back on our shores shortly. I've emailed John Reid, the BBC website and everyone in my contacts book and urge anyone who hasn't yet done so, to do the same. I'm sure that there can't be many who haven't yet shown their support though! Much respect and many thanks to Davey, Richie and everyone else for co-ordinating the campaign. I do hope Sakchai knows the level of support he has up here and that the he's back where he clearly belongs soon. It truly is scandalous. Rory Binns email to John Reid I am absolutely outraged at the removal of Sakchai Makao from his home in the Shetland Islands. He is a trusted and valuable member of the community, well liked and popular and the very fact that he was given his job back by the local council after his incarceration shows in how high regard he was, and continues to be held. How can a young Shetland man be punished twice for a crime he commited several years ago, whilst drunk and completely out of character? He served his time and is a glowing example of a man successfully re-integrating himself into society after spending time in prison. He should not be used as a way to get the statistics up, in an attempt to get some much needed good publicity, after a series of recent catastrophic errors by the Home Office. I ask you is it right that this young man, who has represented not only the Shetland Isles, but Scotland to, in athletics, be ejected from the country, back into Thailand, having not lived there in 13 years, being unable to speak the language, and having no friends or family there and expect him fend for himself? It's absolutely abhorrent what is taking place and the whole of Shetland will fight for his return. I urge you to log on to the www.shetlink.com website where not only you will see the level of support he has, but the level of shock and disgust at this incident amongst the local community.
