  1. I think that is hellish how can people justify getting the police involed when it is a harmless sing song its not like they had full scale amps on the go playing heavy heavy metal or a set of decks playing banging techno tunes. What is the problem of going over to the so called noisy area and asking the people nicely to keep it down a bit!!! It is a quite acceptable thing to do as long as you are polite!! And if they are being a bit crap you smash their face in with the nearest object (of course you dont only joking!!!)
  2. I quite like the car one (sorry Ally), I just think its cool how they make all the differant noises!
  3. My thoughts exactly squintpinkies but to tell you the truth I had forgotten about the the time we had for our breaks if I recall it was 10 minutes in the morning and 20 after the lunch rush and if you wanted something hot you had to get it before the customers and keep it under the bain marie so it was half warm by the time you could eat it. Ahhh them wer the days, by heck
  4. I have one of the most annoying!! Sorry if already been mentioned but I want to rant about it aswell!! The f*****ing pain in the a***e little w*****k s****ft that is on the frosties advert you will know when you watch it!! The bit that really annoys me is the ending when he looks the most cheesy when he is throwing his arms around like a pure idiot!! Really put me off my frosties
  5. I dont know haven't read the article but I do know that the wardens have the power to report noise coming from a house without the householders knowledge, not like when you do get the police at the door and they ask you to turn the music down. Instead you get a letter from Environmental Heatlh a week later when you really are not wanting to remember the party saying that there has been a complaint.
  6. Did it say that it was a neighbour who reported them to the police? As I know that on some occassions the wardens that go around town have reported the noise, not the neighbours.
  7. I would have to say the worst place I have worked is the Skippidock mind you when I worked there is was a much busier place but you were talked to like you were something on there shoe. I know that when you run a business you have to keep an eye on what is going on with your staff but you can really take it too far and as for the sour faced women that used to work there well if you can recall them you will know what I am talking about!! I agree with the post about the SIC and how it sweeps issues under the carpet and makes employees feel guilty when voiceing concerns about their work environments, but it is NOT in every office and there are a few, not many offices within the SIC that are a plesure to work in. But i still think the one of the biggest problems within the SIC are the vast amount of bithcing the goes on I know that it happens everywhere but I think that in a small community like Shetland I can esculate into a raging monster. Well thats my rant about former employers out of the way now (Thank you very needed! ) and I am sure there will be someone somewhere racking there brains to figure out how I am!! Im not telling
  8. I think that one of the main reasons that people leave shetland is the simple fact that they want to explore and see a bit more of the world and experiance things that you would just not get the chance to in Shetland! I left to go to uni and because I love Edinburgh!! I dont think that I can see myself returning any time soon but it is still my home and where my family and friends are. I just love the fact that I can get into my car and drive to the west coast of scotland any time that I want without paying a crazy price for it, and I can actually go into a shop and try clothes on instead of ordering from a catolouge or internet!!!
