You may wish to visit the bars in the district of Le Marais ( 4th arrondissement).

McFly
don't forget to pack some boring stereotypes. Looks like I'll be able to get plenty of those around here. Thanks for the bar area recommendation Moorit. I was kind of hoping for more cultural stuff though...........anybody?
Yowe
How about the Louvre? Thats where I would go if I visited Paris.
peeriebryan
I was on one of those touristy boat trips down the Siene, and very nice it was too. They leave from the city centre pretty regularlly and they're not very expensive, which is unusual in central Paris. The Pompidou Centre is worth a look too. It's got all the gubbins (stairs, ventilation systems, structural steel etc) on the outside so the interior is a huge space. Very interesting. McFly
Take garlic reppelant. How the hell does one repel garlic? It's a vegetable, not an insect. Next time I go to Ireland I'll take some potato repellant shall I? You know how bothersome those tatties can be.

Guest Anonymous
Got to Notra Dame, when i was there there was loads of beggers outside who sold whips, porn and all manner of dodgey stuff. Some real French culture. Also I mind that I went on a boat trip at night and you could see the prostitutes with their punters along some bits. They are very nice and wave if you wave at them. Njugle
I concur with the "don't take the car" comment. French hire-car firms seem to be downright surly and i remember more about the nightmarish traffic than the Eiffel Tower. It was an awful long time ago though. Notre Dame and the Louvre it has to be. And try to catch a "show", I'm told it's well worth it.
