I did sometimes trim my ponies, but got in to some serious problems and one of my ponies got very lame. Now I will only get a farrier to trim but got no luck in getting a reliable one. Farriers know how to trim! If you could take on my ponies, this would be great becouse visiting farriers do not want to take on more ponies here. seems to me that they are only interested in shoeing and triming horses and stay away from small ponies!

Sounds like a good time to try some natural horsemanship.

Watching Peter Laidley trim a ground tied horse whilst sat on a milk crate makes the job look easy! He has it down to a fine art and makes light work of the job.

I have pinched his seat idea for ours, but have yet to learn the art of ground tieing without the Shetlands walking off to eat the nearest grass :lol:
