obinem
My next vacation in Shetland will be in June 2009 and I would like to make a daytrip with "Cycharters" by boat from Scalloway to Foula. On the "Cycharters" homepage is written that bookings can be made via the Shetland Tourist office. Unfortunately the Shetland Tourist Office says that bookings can only be made with "Cychartes". My mail to them was never answered. Now my question: knows anybody if there is still the possibility to make a daytrip to Foula by boat ? Greetings from Germany
hellsbells
Victor Gray who lives in Aith on the westside does trips with his boat. Don't know if he goes to Foula though. His website is www.stmagusbay.shetland.co.uk email vaara@tiscali.co.uk Hope this helps.
muckleflugga
We go quite often to Foula through work and fly. Done the ferry out once when fog came in, and swore would never do it again. Directflight fairly reasonable fares and only 15 mins flight
obinem
Thanks for your answers. Unfortunately the link to Victor Gray is not working. Taking the plane to Foula is a good idea, but I think my wife will not enter a small plane for 6 persons. It was already difficult to persuade her to take the Saab 340 to fly to Shetland. I will try again to contact "Cycharters" via mail. Greetings from Germany
Pooks
Have you tried phoning Cycharters direct? Tel: (01595) 696598Mobile: 07887 945480
obinem
I tried the numbers, but without success. Calling the home number there is no reaction, calling the mobile there is only the answering machine. Maybe he's on holidays. I'll try again, there are some weeks left before we come again to Shetland
