TeeAyBee
Whatever happened to the PURE project in Unst? A current BBC web article http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8103106.stm refers to the Riversimple car which "may be rolled out in small to medium UK cities starting in 2010" - where is the PURE car? Is this a case of the PURE project not getting to market or was the whole thing a waste of time/space/money/effort as other hydrogen car projects were already mature and about to deliver? Anyone know what the story is with PURE?

TeeAyBee
not entirely sure but you remember this... clicky Yes I remember that, but what about the project? Wasn't there a tidy sum of public money sunk into it?
marlin13
PURE are alive and well in Unst, its probably just that their business focus has changed. Due to the potential problem of other unscrupulous companies who would be chuffed to nick their ideas hey are quite tight lipped about the detail of what they are up to.They also employ a fair number of people. crofter
According to the Shetland Times, Ross Gazey of the Pure project will give a talk on sea/tidal power in the Baltasound hall at 6.00 on 25 June as part of the SIC Environment Forum.
