Apparently they only deliver Shetland consigned packages using their own couriers twice a week to Shetland from their Dundee base.

 

Is this true?

 

Anyone know?

Last UPS i had came via WDA (shetland based) once it got off the ferry & delivered by WDA to grutness that day, however, i hae a feeling they are now using northwards, who only drop off on certain days.

UPS are stating that they only deliver to the islands twice a week from their depot at Dundee and that they personally put their vans/drivers on the boat and then trundle around like Postman ruddy Pat happily making our lives better.

 

Do they heck as like?.....

 

No, they trundle 65 miles up the road to Aberdeen harbour and sub-contract it out. Sadly, they fail to tell their clients (Apple) this and give only the impression of their Postman Patness whilst exaggerating the truth.

 

Pah!

 

If it is not here by Friday, I will cancel the order and that is that.

The "twice from dundee" thing is just how their tracking system displays the information.

 

I waited almost a forthnight for something sent with their 24hour service (it was a warranty replacement) and only after they had sent out a second item assuming the first was lost, as apparently after it leaves Dundee they have no way of tracking it or knowing its been delivered, and itt not appearing after 4 days, did I ask for an immediate refund. I agreed to wait one more day and sure enough, Northwards turned up with it first thing (well, left it in a neighbours shed, which we only found out about by chance).

 

The sooner UPS move back to WDA the better.
