Anyone who does a crime needs an excuse, I think that was probally the best to use? You never want to just say I did it for a laugh etc. Thats not what people want to hear.

I allways thought the "moment of madness" excuse was rather poor like it excused what he did. I know plenty of folk who are totally blootered/pissed off etc evey weekend and they never seem to have a "moment of madness".

It is an unfair system, as we all know history is written by the victors. Hence the allies come out of it all smelling of roses and their enemies as all that was evil. Life is not fair, you just have to make sure you end up on the winning side. The allies also included Stalin who murdered far more people than Hitler.

But the CATS appeal has a target, once this is reached fundraiseing will stop. The money would help it reach this target and its somthing that has the potential to benifit all Shetlanders.

I think any spare money should be used to send Sakchai and his family on a well deserved holiday. What do you think peeriesooky ? It should be donated to the CATS appeal. Somthing that can help all Shetlanders.

How can you be so blatently racist? Just because what they think what the people who blew themselves up (be it they were who they were) did a good thing doesn't make them the enemy. Maybe they think its justification to the horrors of the Iraq war. Britian frets when a soldier dies, rightfully so they should be sad, but do we take into consideration the hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi deaths? no because the tabloids are racist. If people think what the bombers did was right and they are liveing amoung us I would class that as an enemy within. Someone who thinks that the normal UK citzens deserve to die as unbelivers or revenge what ever, as they clearley have there allegance to somthing else befor the Uk and the people they live with. I would class that as haveing an enemy amoung us? Do we really want people who wish to see UK citizens killed liveing with us? I for one do not, if you think thats racist then so be it, but i would just class it as common sense. In Iraqi at the moment its not the UK/Americans killing the citizens its insurgents and rival religouse groups. As for the tabloids I think that to a UK citizen the death of a soldier is more important than some Iraqi. Sad buts thats just the way things are and have allways been.

13% is an alarmingly high number of people. Is that 13% of UK Muslims or a worldwide figure. Either way it is far to high. Somehow those Muslims who believe that violence is wrong have got to convince their brothers that if they follow a path of peace support for military action in Afghanistan, Iraq etc will soon diminish. In fact they could start by reminding the more extreme elements within the UK that a lot of us were against the wars from the start and that exploding bombs against the public is no way to press for the parts of their cause that are just. The 13% is in the UK, I think there are around 2 million Muslims in the UK, so a huge number. Talk about the enemy within!

I allways wonder how many of the friends and family have the same outlook on life though and think they were martyrs, now in paradise in heaven, after all it has just been shown in the news that 13% of Muslims thought they were.

Have to say i am getting fed up with all the silences that we are told we have to observe and they seem to be getting longer. It seems they try to make one more important than another by the length of time. The only silence I respect is the one for rememberance day or anything to do with the dead from the war. That is somthing that people should spend a minute thinking about what people sacrificed for us.
