^ or like asking Henrik Larsson to play for Celtic, or Matt Le Tissier to play for Southhampton, maybe they had loyalty instead of glory seeking as their priority.

I take it you mean '' good enough team ''. If so you are probably right.

Would you have left your kids alone?

I too have been surprised by the number of parents, who I would never have expected to have left their kids alone in similar circumstances, have said to me they have done that in the past. -
Willie Lawson was terrible for team spirit, Stuart Smith played for himself (and / or Wesley Leith if he was playing) and only if there was nothing better to do that night. Magnie Malcolmson tried his best. Gerald Johnson , Raymond Aitken and Aitken Swan were the true Cunningsburgh greats of that era. In my opinion Gordon Lawson is the best player to have played in Shetland football. Stuart Hay couldna have laced his boots.

I've been to a few of the juvenile tournaments over the last couple of years and I was very impressed with the standard of the Ness youngsters. Particularly, I think it was their Under 8's and 10's. They either won or reached the final of all the tournaments they were in. I heard the Under 10's scored a barrow load of goals without conceding a single goal at the last tournament. So maybe in 2020 Ness will be the new Delts ? After all the Delts started in the Works league and got humped most matches.

I hear KOYAANISQATSI is to be given suspect status by the Portuguese police. They've looked at this forum and decided that his mindset is of someone who is desperate to see the McCann's charged with Madelaine's disappearance. Very suspicious. -

Is it the stories you are hearing in the media now that you believe backs up your initial thoughts ? -

^ It is amazing that some people are believing some of the stuff in the media. I read today that they reckon the body has been put in a bag with a pile of stones and dumped at sea. So did they just wander down to the marina and ask someone to dump this bag for them. They may well have had something to do with her disappearance, but the practicalities of the theories being put forward seem unbelievable. -

Is it ? Maybe you've been watching too many films ? That's the bit in this particular case that makes the Police version of events so unbelievable. I would also have found it easier to believe they had something to do with it if they had been on holiday alone. How could the McCann's hide what the police is saying they've done from those on holiday with them? And I don't believe all 7 or 8 of them went along with the 'plot' when Kate told them she had accidently given Madeleine an overdose so can you all cover for me please ? -

I think most people are wondering how DNA samples closely matching Madeleine's can be found in the McCann's car which they didn't have access to until 25 days after she went missing. Apparently Robert Murat's car and the McCann's car were inspected and had samples taken from them on the same day by the Portuguese police. These samples were then handed over for analysis in UK. -

^ I'm just saying by finding the DNA in a vehicle they didn't have access to for 25 days after she went missing makes the Police version of events almost unbelievable. -

I think the fact that the Portuguese police are saying that Madeleine's DNA has been found in the McCann's car makes the Police theory harder to believe than if no DNA had been found. It would be hard enough to simply dispose of her body before alerting anyone of her disappearance, without anyone seeing something ; never mind suggesting that they have hidden the body and gone back 25 days later and disposed of it somewhere else, all under the intense media spotlight. -

^^ Theory A: Madeleine McCann was accidentally killed and her body put in a hire car which her parents rented almost four weeks after reporting her missing. Kirby: "This is potentially the most crucial part of the police inquiry at the moment. One thing is for sure though: if the blood found in the hire car is proved positively to be Madeleine's then that puts a completely different take on things. That will cause major problems for the family. It will cause serious, serious consequences for them but we will have to wait and see what develops in relation to that." Was there blood found in the car ? -

If the Portuguese police had any concrete evidence they would probably have charged them by now and they would certainly not have let them leave the country. The forensic 'evidence' is obviously not totally reliable. I think it was an attempt to get them to rightly or wrongly confess that they were responsible so that they could bring an end to the case. -

One of the pieces of evidence is that a page in the McCann's bible from a passage in Samuel about having to tell a man his child is dead is crumpled. -

How interesting. Planes flying over Lerwick. Never seen that before.

^ Scalloway under 14 boys hammered the Shetland Senior Ladies team. Football is not for girls. Mind you boys physical strength increases 6 fold at puberty compared to girls so it's not really a fair competition.

Not according to Jim Tait in The Times.

Where did you get that nugget of information from? Common sense. Do you really think a team who chose not to compete at the previous games would be seeded before this year's semi finalists ?
