i think there should be more signal masts about the place, to be able to reach the areas that have poor or no signals
-
i know when i put that i ment in most places (that i go) i dont often venture north, o2 suits me where i need to go but obviously it wont work in areas same with other networks. there should be a mobile network suited to remote areas

i do find it crazy that they are going to open a school for 1/2 people and potentially close a school for hundreds. dont make sense at all. I used to go to the papa stour school when i was younger, my parents moved from south and it was already open when we moved as 2 pupils already attended and another one started not long after me so went to four then back down to 2, we moved to mainland shetland when i was 7 (i think) so left one pupil there and it shut no long after that. They should use the £50.000 or what ever it is to keep the schools running that really need it.

i am with o2 and get a pretty good signal most places, except my house :S (lucky i have a land line) need to stand right at the window to get a half decent signal to phone or text, but apart from the house i do find it good

i once got a pizza from a certain food place near the cross one night years back and when i went to eat i had a hard lump in it, took it out my mouth to find it was glass, i took it back and the wife tried to tell me it was plastic ( it was deffinatly glass i was the one that unfortunatly had to munch on it) even so glass or plastic it should not had been in it as i told her. few days later i found out from someone that worked there that a gass had fallen off a shelf and smashed all over the counter (and the grated cheese) and they never dumped the cheese and continued to use it on the tatties, pizzas etc

its something i would like to do one day when my baby is a bit older and able to walk so dont have to work with the buggy The chalet was just a normal 2 bed place when we lived there strange to think its a hostel, sure its nice though. Good to hear another story from someone who went from a busy place to such quietness Good luck with finding jobs and finding a new place on the mainland. Good to hear back from you Hayley

hiya we first lived at Robinas (if thats how its spelt) then a chalet down below it that has a red phone box outside it. I went to school there and was 2 other kids but i think it shut not to long after i left, if i mind right. My parents moved from there to sandwick and now i live in lerwick,(my parents are still in sandwick). When we went to move there it was recorded in a couple of the local papers in essex as it was such a big culture move. My dad worked there a couple o times when we still lived in essex and loved it so hence the move. Am glad they did the move, i go back to essex every year to visit family though. Lovely scenery in shetland, some of it i am still to see but its a beautiful place to live, good place to bring up kids to (i now have 3 of my own) hayley
