Horses I am the son of a ploughman, I am not Montey Roberts (a showman who makes a lot of money on tour), and I am not a Horse Whisperer (a traveller who tries to make a living door to door) .I was brought up with Clydesdales, Suffocks and Garrions by people who worked with them every day, Sea angling My boat is "Freya" she is on a traler at the moment, and like me " getting on in years" however at 16 foot with 75hp yam two stroke and a reinforced stern she can hold her own with most google "freya" and you will understand. Friendship I am lonely up here!

Shetland making the national news for the wrong reason. What? The islands may have been drenched by drizzle while the rest of Scotland basked in glorious sunshine yesterday. But when it comes to a contest for the quality of life, there is no better spot in the country than Shetland, according to a new survey.For drizzle read hailstones, otherwise "spot on" My name is John.

This my introduction to Shetlink. I was posted to Shetland (Lerwick) in September and all being well I will be here for the next 15 months! These are my first impressions in no particular order! Everyone is friendly and take the time to listen. The horizontal hailstones hurt. SIBC is plays a decent mix. The flights in and out are not as bad as some places I have worked. Anyway thanks for reading this John
