^^ It all comes down to the size and shape of bottle at the end of the day. Depending on the SLR and the size of lens fitted then it should be fairly easy to judge whether it can hold it or not (e.g. does it fall over?).

 

If you have a 600mm lens fitted to your camera then chances are it will not suffice. On the other hand if you have a 50mm lens then it will probably do fine.

 

Either way it can hold up an SLR just fine. It is the lens that will be the problem...

Saves faffing about trying to swap lenses. My better half stopped using a Canon DSLR when I bought my Lumix FZ7. It wasn't long before we had a second FZ7 in the house! The DSLR sits mostly unused now and one of the lenses cost £600!

Fine when you're just pointing and shooting but try getting decent moon shots and star trails with that :P
