obinem
Hi, I will spend next week in Shetland and would like to know whether the 31th of May is a public holiday ? If yes, are the ferrys running as normal ?
MuckleJoannie
It is a Bank Holiday but not a council holiday. I would think that the ferries will be running as normal. They only stop completely at Christmas and New Year. If you are planning to go to Unst on Monday I would check what is going to be open there. We went there on a Monday last summer and discovered a few touristy places shut on Mondays.

daveh
You shouldn't come here just for the weather!
obinem
Certainly we don't come just for the weather. If the weather would be a serious motive, I would stay at home ...
JimIvens
You shouldn't come here just for the weather! Why not? If you are a weather spotter you can experience a whole gamut of weathers in just a few hours.

If you are a weather spotter you can experience a whole gamut of weathers in just a few hours. Yesterday for instance. I managed to get a little sunburned before almost freezing to death in the pelting rain. I felt sorry for the Alvis Owners Club who kindly brought their vehicles to the Clickimin and then got drenched.
