DarthBlingBling
Hi, I have an interview coming up for this scheme. Can anyone tell me anything of interest about the scheme, preferably information on the interview process? Also can anyone comment on the quality of the secondary schools? Are they modern and what resources do the classrooms have access too?
Guest posiedon
Also can anyone comment on the quality of the secondary schools? Are they modern and what resources do the classrooms have access too?The schools here are probably the best equipped anywhere in Scotland. Malachy
I thought the graduate scheme was intended for graduates from Shetland, returning home. Have I entirely misunderstood?
DarthBlingBling
The website says it's for both encouraging keeping people on the island and attracting offshore talent.
DarthBlingBling
To be honest I don't know if it is part of the graduate scheme or not, just presuming it is as it's with the council and only lasts 1 year.
Spinner72
I have worked with young people on graduate placement from outside the UK a few times. I always assumed it was a drive to attract talented individuals from anywhere, as well as an incentive to retain local graduates.
hjasga
Can anybody tell me if the scheme is still going ahead this year? With the council no longer hiring externally I'm not sure. I thought the graduate scheme was intended for graduates from Shetland, returning home. Have I entirely misunderstood? There's no legal way to distinguish. Ironwithin
I thought the graduate scheme was intended for graduates from Shetland, returning home. Have I entirely misunderstood? It was meant for this to stop the "braindrain" from Shetland and did work like this at the beginning, but then it was pointed out it was not legal to do this. Some most of the graduates that have been in the last few years have been from outwith Shetland, which seems to defeat the origional idea.
