Spinner72
Tried to keep the topic as relevant as possible. Mostly due to the weather, I have spent the last few days tidying up my music collection, which is now nicely organised and tagged, including album art throughout. But now I am looking for a kinda specific thing. A Media player (not organiser, I have that well sorted thank you) that will provide me with some standard controls and some nice visualizations preferably incorporating the album art I have spent much of the week finding
JordanKZ
I've been using the Zune desktop client for years. It is down right beautiful, doesn't use much memory and scales to almost any desktop. It is PC only though. (Sorry about the giant screenshots, I hope you have a big assed monitor) I just happen to have some screenshots on my dropbox: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/artist%20view.jpgArtist View http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/auto%20search%20%26%20edit.jpgAuto Search & Edit ID3 tags http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/manual%20edit%20mode.jpgManual ID3 tag editing http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/Dock.jpgDocked player http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/Mini%20player.jpgMini player http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/now%20playing%20view%20%28with%20artist%20info%29.jpgNow playing screen with artist information pulled from Zune marketplace http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/now%20playing%20view%20%28without%20artist%20info%29.jpgNow playing screen without artist information pulled from Zune marketplace http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12262937/Zune/podcast%20view.jpgPodcast screen You can download the client from zune.net. Hamron
Try winamp: http://www.winamp.com/ Really nice interface and a boatload of free skins/visualisations.
Spinner72
Believe it or not, it is my exasperation with Winamp that is leading me to look elsewhere. Zune looked OK, but doesn't run on Windows7 so that kinda ruled it out, but I tried it and it seems obsessed with connecting to the internet, so a big no-no there for me. Thanks for the suggestions though, any more gratefully welcome!
Hamron
I've heard good things about aimp: http://www.aimp2.us/ I haven't tried it myself - still using Winamp although I'm becoming less and less fond of it these days.
