ChristopherWilliamThomson
Well first of all I hope there isn't already a topic about this! http://www.myspace.com/energizerpromotions James, best of luck for the 15th of July, I'll be there! Any chance you could talk a bit more about the project? I am really, really impressed by your (and Jono's) initiative with this and I really hope it blossoms. Jono
Really the main idea is to take bands up from south, have local support bands and promote it ourselves. On the 15th there is an Aberdeen band called The Upstarts playing in The North Star alongside Rage Against The Washing Machine, Bacchus, Juvenile Delinquents, Victims of Authority and Hidden Agenda. Gigs are something ive always enjoyed going to, so decided to do this to see how it goes, (+ nobody else seems to be doing much of this sort of thing anymore) if it works well I want to keep it going (so if Diminor wanna gig?) Anyway check out the myspace page in chris' post and you can find the flyer for the 15th here : http://www.10rillingtonplace.com/energizer/shocking.gif The Upstarts Myspace page : http://www.myspace.com/theeupstarts Oh and tickets are on sale from Clives now! Jono
oh and i forgot to mention its an over 14s gig and proof of age will be required to gain access to the bar area. We're doing this because we think alot of Shetlanders who would actually want to see the bands are under 18 so this is a good chance for them to do so, and hopefully we can get more of these types of gigs in Shetland. JAStewart
Yeah its been a bit hectic, what with 4/5 ska bands cancelling and worrying about costs and stuff. I really hope it all works and we get a good turnout though, because we have great bands playing, and The Upstarts are very good indeed. I hope to see everyone there! JustMe
I most certainly will not "make it". Sounds like a dreadful noise to me. Having said that I hope everything goes well on the night. Quite something to organise a gig like this. Well done!
