Infiltrator
Inky, not being funny, but I don't see the word corruption in the article you've pasted, is it in the main article ? I accept the story doesn't look good but suggest it would be wise at this stage to stick to the facts .
merkin
Are we not being a little harsh on Mr Boden, he is after all in Good company. I seem to remember that the last home grown Chief Executive also graced the pages of Private Eye, and was also found guilty of maladministration. Further back in the mists of time I seem to remember that newly appointed CE Nick Reiter was 'removed' from office at great public cost for- allegedly/or not - having links to the Westminster Housing scandal. Following the Dave Clark fiasco and given the current economic situation the right appointment is crucial for Shetland. Difficult as it is, it is the responsibility of the selection panel to choose the best candidate AND fully vet the selected person fully prior to offering them the job. The record for achieving this is clearly not very good. Paulb is correct - this needs dealing with (one way or another) before any contract is signed. Thereafter any appointee should be unmolested and given a fair chance to carry out the job.
admin
With reference to the the article "private eye names names in pay off scandal" posted on http://swwiltshirelibdems.org.uk which has been linked to several times in this thread: it should be noted that no wrongdoing was ever proven, no action was taken and "no direct evidence of deceitful or illicit behaviour was uncovered" Please stick to the facts, avoid unverified claims and give consideration to the repercussions of what you post on a public forum.
