  1. I believe thats a combination of both Penfold. Gone (thankfully) are the days of spending money on overrated players wages and transfer fees, which only Rangers were guilty of. Tore A Flo for £12m, they were NEVER going to get anywhere near that back, plus his wages were probably nearly the whole teams wages now put together. Other players which were on about £50,000 p/w Frank De Boer, Lorenzo Amoruso, even not that long ago with the likes of Boumsong etc. Rangers are paying now for their own mis management however the league have a bit of the blame also. The decision to reject Sky TV's offer a few years ago for Television rights for about £125m was suggested by the Awld Firm and Aberdeen, but rejected by the nine other greedy SPL teams wanting more money from a less stable Setanta, a gamble which was wrong. Also mis management from the hierarchy of SPL directors etc., just a shambles. Basically what Im trying to say, is Rangers have done this to themselves, but with a little help along the route
  2. Think that might happen shortly anyways Kirsty, unless a new buyer is found very shortly. But your right, the full importance of last years championship victory to put us straight into the Champions League is now there. Even though while there we're getting humiliated, and humiliating Scotland!
  3. Oh, money again, why are you so against the youth? Were you not young once? Remember, Kaleidoscope are non profit making, our work is voluntry! So we also could not pay you to come. But check out the links and see the fun every one else is having. That will only cost you you electricity. Whats do mumbling on about? That makes no sense. Who said I was against the youth? I am young myself, 24 years old, thats far to old to attend one of your (to quote Spinner) "Doof Doof" sessions. As for your West Sandwick comment, get a grip. Get a grip dsel! 24, your so old, my you must have seen so much in your many years on the planet. What would attract you to Yell....fiddle music, knitting sessions, sheep caain? Prey tell, have you ever ever studied south, uni or college? P.S. The D.J. Mall is near 40. Absolutely nothing would attract me to the isle, apart from the road getting me hame tae Unst. I've seen plenty to keep me entertained in my 'many years' on the planet, and what does studying south have anything to do with my dislike of your discos? Edited: *comment made, but taken back because I can't be bothered to argue*
  4. IP addresses are irrelevant in this matter, you suggesting this person should be found out and banned or something? Comes to personal views, noone is wrong, they can't be wrong You can only be wrong if you suggest someone doesn't have the right to express their own personal opinion, and I hope this doesn't change. Just for records...I'm Liberal!

  6. Think their might be a few in Voe
  7. I'm a Rangers fan, I do nothing but see my own teams faults, because there are that many. The national team aren't the best at the moment, but these things can change quickly, getting rid of GB might help things along.
  8. I wouldn't go to one of those nights in Mid Yell for money.
  9. Maybe thats why I don't have faults though, I don't use Ebay
  10. I just use awld trusted Internet Explorer, never done any fault!
  11. There is a city called Rome on every continent. Edit: Ok there is a City called Rome on every continent..Apart from Antartica, and maybe Asia.....
  12. When you sneeze, all bodily functions stop even your heart.
  13. Noseyness Or perhaps folk are just using this tread for some recipe tips
  14. The term 'Soothmoother' when I was a boy, was used to describe someone who came through the 'sooth mooth'.. i.e. the south ferry. Don't know how it became to be an insult, I use the term to friends all the time, they're never insulted.
  15. The highest ever recorded wind speed record in Great Britain was recorded at Hermaness in 1991. I believe it was 192mph, but they believe it was higher than this although they can't prove it as the equipment blew away. Source: mesel Dates and the Figures: might be wrong....
  16. A law implying "Anyone caught breaking the law under the influence of an illegal substance be admonished to Forvik Isle (although carefully to avoid the traps)"
  17. Thats funny because its true! I was speaking to someone who I thought was a guy through PM for ages about a specific topic. Turns out this person was a girl! I won't mention the topic as I didn't let on to her I thought this.
  18. There is certainly at the VERY least three Sandwicks in Shetland. I know of, obviously the place in the South end, a Sandwick area in Unst, and Yell. Also, excuse my face regarding the Tingwall in Orkney. There very much is....Shocked at myself
  19. Me and my partner were sent to Aberdeen because we got told th..... blah blah anyways Arrived at the Isles Accommodation to a battleaxe who said there was just a single room left, which was fine, I made my pregnant wife sleep on the floor while I got the less than comfy single bed....just kidding other way round. The next day we enquired about a double room, which we told there was available, but we wen't allowed to hae it because it was against Hospital rules to switch rooms!?! Even though I was sleeping on the floor of a room the size of a boxroom. After further deliberation, swearing, and absolute stubbornness on my behalf with this awld bitch, I eventually, after about an hour of negotiating managed to get convinced to switch us to the double room. We never slept in it however as a few hours later she geed into labour.... Anyways the point is, the fact its there, and free is excellent, however its just that, free. Don't expect ritz style rooms or bed and breakfast. Or even, as someone else pointed, quiltcovers. I believe the locally set up Aberdeen Maternity Unit chairty set up locally is a brilliant idea and a worthwhile cause.
  20. I completly agree with these posts above. This wouldn't work. I don't believe it would work now or in 10 years time. As Baxter says, The football clubs are so different in the way they're run. Unst has from what I can gather financial stability and an increadible backing from the Unst population. I can only say from looking on the outside Yell doesn't have the same finances or backing (again this might not be true, however its just what it looks like). The fact of the matter is, Unst aren't going to have anywhere near the squad they had last season. If they believe that dropping a division in standard is the best way forward for them, who's to complain? Why complain? As far as I'm concerned there is no point, no development atall as players in getting humped every single week like Yell did last year (with the exception of a fantastic victory over Scalloway). That isn't helping the league, the players, the team, the specticle of the league or the fans of any side who want to see competetive football throughout. The bigger teams at the top I believe are getting closer together, in a few years time we might see a four or five team fight for a championship, but because of the resourses in Unst, their geographical position, lack of jobs which mean folk aren't moving up there etc. Unst is falling behind in quality.
