This is money given by us, tax payers that is, to Doctors to keep their mouths shut. It is money that is given by a person who is employed by us, tax payers that is, to make sure that we, tax payers that is, do not find out what is happening in the NHS, that we, taxpayers that is, have paid all our working lives for.
Re the gagging clause, I am ex-military so I had to sign, The Official Secrets Act, I understood that. It was to protect us and the people who are now doing it to protect their asses.

    Paulb,
You said that things are improving unfortunately they are not they have got worse according to a 2011-2012 report.
I am with Silvercloud that we should stand up for change, we can stand up and help the frustrated staff who are being threatened by bullies, because I sincerely belief that there are staff that hate their enforced duplicity.
What we now need is a member of management to comment.
    Regards,

    Hi

I totally agree being a victim very very hard and when its on one on one it can be extremely difficult and speaking out about it is also very hard because people don't want to talk about it so long as it not happening to them or indeed proving it and some may feel uncomftable to admit they were aware it was happening or for a variety of other reasons won't come forward for patient/ mothers behalf.
Equally just as hard for some health professionals to speak out for fear what their collegues might say and how they will be treated.

Even with the strictest regime, bullying will go on. It has been, from my experience very hard to get a result in such cases. Much of the bullying is done one on one, a lack of folk willing to testify is another problem.
I am dealing with a case of this at the moment, it is very upsetting for those who are the victims.

I agree to some extent, but I would say its worse in the NHS because alot of other organisations deal with complaints constructively, however the NHS do not for fear of litigation.

"Redding up kin" used to be a favourite topic of conversation with my elderly relations. You heard some good stories about your forebears - the problem is trying to remember them after all those years.

Sites like Bayanne make it easy nowadays to trace your relations though the scandals aren't there.

Farmer Brown, can you send link, I was interested but only got to get a quick look on my phone.

There are groups that can help as well, I found many of my relatives using the Bayanne site going back to 1750s, then someone else here said they have found details going back further to a castaway fiddler on Unst. If you can get the background it can be very exciting.
We have a Laurenson in our family, the eldest is still partying and over 102 years old

    Good luck.
